Q: How much space exactly is in the storage compartment? Im choosing this stool or another about $30 cheaper but id like which ever one has more space

It's just about 12" wide, 12" high and 6" deep, so I wouldn't really call it a storage compartment for anything more than a folded bath towel.

Q: Is this durable enough for adults to use by the bed size? How much weight will it support?

Yes it is but slips on a wooden floor

I had hip surgery and had to use the step to get into my bed. It is a nice quality and looks very nice. My husband has been goofing around with it and uses it to get into bed too. He weighs 230# almost double my weight and it holds him just fine. If I could change anything I would make the steps just a little wider. I am very happy with my steps!

Q: Will it hold up to 300 lbs

I am not sure about that, but I wouldn't risk it.
