A must have for any auto work
One of the things that I have always disliked about working on my own vehicles has been the clean up and especially fluids. It doesn't matter if its an oil change, bleeding brakes, topping off the power steering or adding coolant, it always involves some kind of spill, leak or drip that needs to get mopped up. I have always used up more rags and paper towels dealing with these kinds of spills and trying to keep the floor in my garage clean. These absorbent pads are such a better way to deal with this issue and its so much more proactive. So now when I do an oil change it starts with putting down a couple of pads on the floor under my oil pan and not having to worry about any errant drips or spills as I drain the oil and change the filter. If the pad only gets a few drips on it or none at all I just put it back in the pile and use it the next time I have some work to do. Same is true when I bleed brakes, the job starts with putting a pad down under the brake and not working about chasing drips as I go abut bleeding them off. Definitely worth the price especially when you consider how many fewer rags or paper towels you will use.

They work!
How well do these pads absorb oil?As a practical test, I added 8 oz. used motor oil to 8 oz. water in a pan (Photo A). Into the pan I placed one of these pads and allowed it to soak up as much oil as possible (Photo B). When I turned the pad back on itself, it was apparent that the pad was picking up the oil and leaving most of the water behind (Photo C). After dabbing as much of the oil with the pad as I could, there was mostly water left in the pan (Photo D). I poured about 5 oz. of water from the pan, so the pad absorbed the other 3 oz.These pads should work just fine to catch drips during oil changes, and clean up small spills. Very handy to have in the garage, and they work much better than rags, at about a dollar per sheet.

Great for marine applications
I have used similar mats on my boat for years. These work as good as any for absorbing oil and not water. They are good under engines, transmissions, generators and in the bilge. The bright white color is excellent as it provides a great contrast to oil and helps you to detect problems early. These pad are slightly bigger and not perforated like the brand I have purchased in the past. You are able to cut them easily with a scissor. I would definitely buy again.

They work
No more dips on my garage floor! Placed a few under the car when doing an oil change to catch any drips. Oil absorbed well and didn’t go through. Definitely a handy item to keep in garage.

Great idea, these are perfect for small drips, very absorbent & they can't spill like a drip pan
These are a great idea, they absorb small, inevitable drips from oil changes or brake jobs without soaking through like paper. They also have advantages over drip trays that I normally use because I can't kick them over, step in them or lose hardware in them. Oil does soak from the top to the bottom but if it is just a small drip or I pull up a larger spill quick enough it doesn't go through to the floor. I have a few bikes that drip over time. I thought about putting these on the floor under them instead of pie tins but they kind of look like diapers on the floor.
