I bought this because I have always been concerned about a bump knocking my radar off the bike. The lanyard on this item, looped through the saddle rail, ensures this cannot happen. The item itself is made of good plastic, so is reasonable protection if you happen to drop the radar at home or while taking it off for a coffee stop. I got the snazzy matte blue color and I love it on the bike. For all these reasons I really recommend this case. Good protection, good looks.

I’m for protecting one of the most important safety devices since the bike helmet! Garmin did a great thing for bike safety! Easy to install, doesn’t hinder operation of device.

Not as difficult to use as some reviews have stated, just requires the proper "technique" to install on light: slip on over bottom first and then work way to top and it clicks right on. Removing is more difficult, but that should be the idea since thats what its made for, to keep from losing radar/light.How robust is it? Dunno, I haven't broke it by removing/reinstalling and it the radar is firmly held. I have ridden with it for many, many miles on mixed surfaces and in various temps with no breakages.4 stars is best I can do, it works. Only concern is material and lifespan; however, it's not something that is constantly removed and reinstalled so stress fractures shouldn't be an issue

Eventually the mounts all fail. This protective cover I make two lightly tied knot loops on the left side saddle bar and now do not worry about losing my light. I have had my mounts fail and the light fell off. I only found out about it because I get an error message on my bike computer display when it fell off each time. This has happened to me three times and luckily I found the light and it was not crushed by a vehicle. I am not sure why Water Resistance is listed as a feature. It is not intended to resist water, only to protect you from having your light fall off the bike.

The case fits tightly around the RTL515. Just be sure to install correctly as I didn't and thought there was a problem. Ooops
