I am trying to decide between standard and wide for this shoe. how roomy is the Standard width?

As of May 2018, have the issues with too-short velcro straps and overly large tongues been fixed? Many earlier reviews complain of these problems.

Can these be run through a washing machine?

Do the insoles come out?
