Not worth it
It's a mat.. I previously used a bath math with a button on one side and it's about as effective. More attractive though. It shifts around and loses orientation easily, and the button on the edge requires probing around to find so is generally not super useful for maintaining orientation. A mat with some sort of grain that can be detected from anywhere would be more useful, and one that is stickier and doesn't slide and spin so easily

Perfect Gift for Any VR Gamer
I had this ProxiMat for about 2 months now. I bought another size too and they both are really good. It really depends on the space and area that you have to play your VR game. Before getting this, I was using a rug in the middle of my room because I had accidentally punched my monitor while playing Super Hot. This is definitely an upgrade to the looks and I like how it has buttons built in that allow you to feel where you are on the mat. Definitely looks cool and helps people stay in one spot when I show them VR for the first time too.

Awesome, but it moves around a lot. You'll probably want to pick up some double sided tape to keep this in place.
