A little thin on content

Fascinating look at the wonderful unique Eames team, Ray and Charles, deaturing an interesting array of photographs, capturing the essence of their philosophy and that breathtaking furniture. Well worth buying, I am sure I will never tire of thumbing through its pages

I'm a fan of mid-century furniture, especially Eames designs. Naturally, I was excited about this book. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. It's just an "okay" book, with a couple nice photos, but that's about it. There isn't much information on the furniture at all, and the pictures are limited. The size of the book is also much smaller that I expected (about the size of a children's book). I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you're looking for something with substance or valuable information on the Eames furniture designs.

If you were completely unfamiliar with Charles & Rae Eames and their work, then this book would be a nice little introduction. However, if you are familiar with them, then this book will be a big disappointment. From the title I was hoping for a more comprehensive look at their work and why it has endured. However, this isn't much more than a little postcard book. The pictures are nice but very familiar and readily available elsewhere. It's nice enough, but not worth the trouble of ordering.

I bought this as a Christmas gift off of my husband's wish list - I wish that I had read the product specs and reviews more carefully first. This book is TINY. It's like a children's book - I was totally expecting a normal coffee table sized book - especially for $25!!! I sent it back and bought a real sized book - with higher reviews - about Eames for HALF THE PRICE.

If you want a breviary about what the Eames couple did, its Ok, but to get a more wide perspectiva its just not the apropiate work, its Ok for a basic library to have, but not a valuadle information to people working in designArch, is just too basic, the descripción and images créate a false expectancy.
