Amazing. Way better than I expected.
This little shovel is super cool. Very sturdy and durable once you lock it in position, which is incredibly easy btw. Pull it out of the compact pouch, pick either straight shovel or 90° angle, twist the locking mechanism and you’re ready to rock. Yes people, it’s small...THATS THE WHOLE POINT!!! Those who have complained about the size simply picked the wrong shovel for their needs. This one is a breeze to travel with compared to a long wooden handled shovel. You can toss the pouch into your backpack, attach it to your pack, loop it onto your belt, slide it under your car seat or wherever you want because it folds up so nice and neat in a proper carrying case. Then, when you open your carrying case it tri-folds out into a larger tool. This would be perfect for camping to very quickly carve out a fire pit or for simple little yard jobs around the house. I couldn’t be happier and I can’t believe the amazing price of this rockstar shovel. Also, who wants a giant shovel taking up room in their garage or car? All in all, It’s really cool and it gets the job done. Don’t hesitate to buy. 100% recommended.

Economical and compact
This is a great "little" shovel and extremely compact when folded up. It is well made and appears that it will last a long time. The blade measures 6-5/8" long x 4-13/16" wide. Unfolded the shovel length measures 18-5/8" in length. It is very sturdy. However, I have only used it to pick up dog waste so far. I think it would be great for digging out snow or sand but not sure about hardpan. I think it would be great for backpacking as it is very compact and comes with a sheath that could be carried on a belt. Although the special forces shovels look sturdy, they're ridiculously expensive and not as compact. This is a very well-built and compact shovel for the money. P.S. I did go out back and dig in the dirt with it, even used my foot to sink it into the ground, and it held up nicely.

Handy! I recommend it!
I keep this shovel in my car for emergencies. My brother’s car tires got stuck in holes a few winters ago, and he almost died. I want options, if I get stuck!I used this shovel for a 2-week camping trip. I dug lots of holes (in the Pennsylvanian woods) for natural disposal of human waste... Ahh, the call of nature... I also used it to clear a spot for my tent. I found the saw edge on the side of the shovel to be useful in cutting through vines. It doesn’t do quite the best job cutting through roots in the ground, but I found the shovel adequate for my purposes. The shovel is pretty lightweight, and it’s pretty sturdy. I was worried a few times about breaking it when trying to use it as a lever to pull roots from the ground to make my campsite flatter. Some things this shovel just can’t handle. I backed off if I thought it was too much for the shovel. It does flex a little bit when under strain. I think it would break if I really pushed it.For reference, I’m a woman. I’m not super-strong. I’m no body-builder. The shovel is a good size and weight to do most light work, and I think it’s an excellent companion if you’re going adventuring anywhere. You never know when you need a tool like this.

Light, strong, and adaptable
I bought this shovel to clear mud and dirt off our local shared use (bicycle and pedestrian) trails. There are several places where the Capital Crescent Trail runs along the base of a steep slope that is not adequately vegetated or otherwise protected, and heavy rains carry mud and gravel down onto the trail. I got tired of using a stick and my broom (yes, I carry a 2 piece broom on my bike) to clear the mud, because that was slow and beat up my broom. So I went looking for a small fold-able shovel, and the Tabor appeared to have the best combination of light weight and robustness. I've used it twice so far, with good results. I do any deep clearing with the point of the blade, then most of the clearing by scraping with the non-serrated side of the blade. The solid handle makes using it sideways work well. And the case means I don't need to clean it quite so well when I'm done.

Looks durable, sturdy and god value for money
Metal quality appears to be very durable and the overall finish is very good. Can be compactly folded and lodged in the plastic pouch which also appears to be of good quality. This is an excellent item intended for keeping in a vehicle at all times for emergency use in case your vehicle tires get stuck up in ice or mud. Serrated edges are not sharp as they are not meant to be used for cutting, rather I presume they can be used for scrapping hardened floor ice beneath the tires. Spade can be fixed & best utilized in two positions, angled at 90 degrees and/or straight at 180 degrees. Again, this is an excellent choice for emergency use and is not meant to be an everyday gardening shovel. Best value for money (costing only 14 bucks).

Shovel as described and excellent; carrying case not so much
The shovel is exactly as described and works great. Appears to be good quality. The case is very flimsy.. looks like canvas in the picture but is cheap material. The shovel was shipped in a soft-sided mailing package which allowed the edges to get banged. The case arrived torn in several places and is now duct-taped. Would have torn the first time the shovel was put back in the case, even if it didn't arrive cut in the first place. Still giving the product a 5 star because the shovel is a good value.

Extreme perform in mud and dirt, but bent on hard ice.
I bought this Shovel for over 8 months and finally had chance to use it when all my car's 4 wheels got stuck in small hole under, shallow but covered with slippery ice and can't maneuver my car out. I dig open ways for all tires and the shovel bent after I finished the job. The handle was quite short but it provided really firm hold when I used with both hands. I will buy the second one but definitely not gonna use it again on hard ice. Overall, its worth buying
