I bought these for my dog, who keeps slipping on the wooden steps. These work perfectly. Took some playing around with them but learned that it's best if they are pushed to the back of the steps. If not, they tend to move. I did not use any kind of tape or glue to hold them down. The rubber backing seems sufficient if placed to the back of the step. Delivered very quickly . Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is they came in a box, folded in half in a bundle. The ones closest to the center have the fold mark on them still - several weeks later - so they don't exactly sit flat.

These are awesome- beautiful, easy to install, great price! We had to finish our own raw staircase. We stained it and to further protect it, we went for these stair treads. Perfect! ...and they feel great on bare feet. (Here are before/after pix.)

Our eldest dog had stopped taking the 3 tile steps to the door on his own. We were having to support his considerable weight, or take him an alternate, very inconvenient route to go outside. After a few weeks (yes, it took awhile) of helping him up the now-carpeted steps, he realized they were no longer as problematic, and now takes them on his own again!This is the very reason I came here looking for treads.

Yes. Yes. And YES!!!!! STOP LOOKING AND BUY! I was wanting something for our stairs because my toddler fell down them. I purchased 2 baby gates but I wanted something to help him climb and stabilize.. and also soften the fall a bit if he does fall again. THESE ARE AMAZING!!!!! Great price, and they stick really well. Though I added carpet tape.. I ran out and the ones I didn't use the tape on stick just as well as the ones that have the extra tape. And they were so easy to install. They look really good too. I cant say enough good things about these. I'm so glad I purchased them.

Looks nice, but not as slip resistant as I would like. the slip resistant rubber backing still allows the carpet treads to move, so I am constantly having to adjust them on the stairs. I do know whether they are machine washable, but I speculate the rubber backing would not hold up to a washing and drying cycle.

These stair treads are thin, but decent quality. The rubberized backing keeps them in place on the steps fairly well even without carpet tape. They move sideways a bit, but have never come off the step even with two dogs running up and down the stairs.

I have slippery wooden stairs, very long and two flights in my house and my english bulldog puppy was having a hard time navigating them without slipping.... these have helped a lot although not the prettiest and the kids tend to mess them up a little.... but fine for my needs and not permanent... yay!

Bought these for daughter in her new house. I ordered them one day, they were delivered the next day. She and the grandkids love them, no more fear of slipping, no more bruises. She says they're soft on the feet, no problems there with her hyper sensitive little ones' skin.She's waiting for some appliques to be delivered to decorate back of each step so she doesn't have to permanently change the backs' color with paint.
