We have each of our kids a whistle to keep on their wrist while on a camping trip. We had a signal (3 blows) for them to return to the campsite. We also instructed them to blow long and hard if in distress. These held up well for the trip and the loudness was just right.

The whistle isn't as loud as I thought it would be.

Ok, I have a few more than necessary so I plan to keep a couple extras in case I lose any but my grandsons can have one each so they can send out an alert if needed. Their parents won't mind if they blow them a little extra! The trick for children is to make sure they don't swallow the whistle. So, make sure the wrist band is attached.I keep the wrist bands attached also and attach the whistle to my backpack that I use when I take the dogs out into the woods. If they get too far off, I can blow the whistle and they respond immediately. I included a simple demo video to show they actually respond. The whistles are loud, and the dogs seem to respond quicker than if I whistle using my lips. So, there's a plus.

Ever since I got stuck in a building during a large earthquake, I have carried a whistle on my keychain with me. There was a woman who was stuck and had a whistle, and she was rescued because the emergency workers heard her whistle! Everyone should have one of these even if you don't live near earthquakes, if just for safety reasons. This product is perfect. It is small enough to not get in the way of your keys, and made out of metal so it will last. Slim design looks good, too. You get a lot of whistles and coil wrist bracelets in this set, all very bright colors and packed well in a zip top bag. The bracelets were all perfect - no flaws or defects. Comfortable for smaller or larger wrists. We really liked that the whistles had their own metal loop to put on your keychain without needing the bracelet. The whistles come in colors that match the bracelets, however, not all of our whistles worked. Some were really loud while a few barely had any whistle to them at all. A decent product that everyone should carry but minus one star for a few defective whistles. Otherwise, a great value and set.

Ordered this on Nov 16 and it was delivered on Dec 14 by seemingly banana boat express. So you get 12 whistles and wrist coil straps for less than $9. You get your money's worth here. The paint on the whistles are already coming off and you will see bare metal in no time if you keep it on your key chain. They are plenty loud, but don't feel substantial. I think it's OK as a kid's safety item because it can be easily replaced at this price.
