Super little gadget - lives in my desk to spice up my office cuisine.

I orderd 5 mills.The packages came this week.It look very very good. Its both modern and warm.Very clean design. When I received it a one mill had a large scratch.They hid it with a sticker!Sooo lame.I removed the sticker very gently, using water and soap only, and there was the scratch!If I want a replacement I must ship It back and it will cost me.I am really OK with the scratch. I am angry with them for hiding it with the sticker.BTW no other mill had a sticker.Beautiful product, but unfortunately I feel deceived.

Prefect for the table, not for cooking because it dispenses in small amounts. The grind is super fine, no random chunks get through.

Adjusting knob will not stay tightened

Although I seem to have a collection of pepper mills, and respect the Peugeot name, I don't like this particular one. The reason is because you can't hear the peppercorns grinding!

My wife and I like this pepper mill. That's not to say it is perfect.First the good news. It looks nicer "in person" than on Amazon's product page. It's nicely proportioned: neither too big, nor too small. It fits nicely in the hand (shape & weight). The lifetime guarantee on the mechanism is nice (but I wonder if anyone would ever take the manufacturer up on the guarantee). The acrylic looks sharp, as does the stained beech top.Now the not-so-good. I'm not sure a plastic pepper mill is worth $30 regardless of how nice the acrylic is (for the price I would have rather had glass). It will be interesting to see how the acrylic stands up to being washed. My wife did not like that you could see the screws (which hold the grinding base to the acrylic) in the acrylic; I kinda liked it. I can't stand the little ball on the top (which adjusts the grinding mechanism). It looks childish, comical, and horribly out-of-place. A flattish, washer-looking retainer would have been a far better aesthetic choice (imho).I found the hoity-toity product tag fascinating. I didn't realize that Peugeot was well-known for culinary items; I thought the company's purview was pretty much in the auto and bicycle industries. Who knew!? But I suspect the tag serves the additional purpose of helping the prospective buyer understand why a $15-$20 pepper mill costs $30. Given the choice between the Peugeot decal and paying $10-15 less, I'm pretty that 100 out of 100 I'd go for the lower price.In the end, this is a very nice pepper mill that is burdened by an expensive decal. 3 stars from me, 4 stars from my wife; hence, 3.5 stars. We both agree that it would be a 4+ star product if it cost a bit less.

Since this pepper mill comes with peppercorn, I have divided this review into two parts. The resultant taste is the main reason to buy a pepper mill.This pepper mill has an excellent appearance and the acrylic looks better in person than the photo. I really like that this pepper mill comes with black peppercorns and is ready to use. The grinder mechanism works very well. The default setting is just the way I like the peppercorn ground. To me, it looks like it is very robust and should last a long time. There is a matching salt mill I would like to have to complete the set, but I don't think there is much purpose of a salt mill.Pepper Taste:It tastes quite different - sort of concentrated. It's unmistakably a pepper taste, but with a very distinctive added spicy taste sensation. Of course, that is why it is called a spice. It is quite different having the refreshing taste of freshly ground pepper on food. I'll have to adjust the amount of pepper compared to store bought ground pepper.The taste of store bought pre-ground pepper goes flat after about three months of being ground. In fact, a lot of the initial flavor is gone within an hour or so of being ground. Unground peppercorns maintain their freshness for about two years. Store bought ground pepper is usually a mix of the cheapest peppercorns available. My pre-ground pepper containers were probably open for the better part of a year before I threw them away.

I really like the style of this pepper mill. The chocolate wood is rich looking and smooth, the acrylic build displays the inner mechanism and peppercorns, which I personally prefer because I can easily see when it is nearing time to refill. I even like the brushed nickel knob on the top as it is a match to my decor. My kitchen is made up of dark cabinetry with brushed nickel hardware and fixtures and this pepper mill is a perfect compliment.As for function, this item did not disappoint. I've used pepper mills that are easier to turn but I wouldn't say this one is difficult by any means. It produces a consistent, flavorful grind and the coarseness is adjusted easily enough by twisting the knob on top.The build of this pepper mill is solid - the acrylic is exceptionally thick and heavy and as I mentioned the wood is beautifully smooth. Time will tell how the acrylic portion holds up to extended use; my only concern is that it may show scuffs/scratches over time but as of now my pepper mill is pristine and gorgeous.One thing I wanted to mention that's probably obvious, but just in case: this is a 5.5" pepper mill, not 55" as the description states.Overall a great product!

Works well for chili, tried many other machines to no avail and disappointment, Peugeot got this right.

Un macinino da 30 e oltre euro venduto in semplice involucro di nylon pluriball?E spedito pure così, sia pure nel contenitore di cartoncino amazon..Infatti due piccoli graffietti ci sono e lo rispedirei subito indietro.Perchè il prodotto è nuovo e bellino ma è mancante di una meritevole confezione e inoltre rischia di arrivare danneggiato.Lo sconsiglio solo per questo.In ogni caso arriva riempito di peperoncini, per cui si ha la possibilità di provarlo seduta stante.La macinatura è abbastanza buona, ovviamente agendo sula manopolina superiore in modo da avere una macinatura grossa qualche pezzo un po' più grosso può scappare, ma se si vuole c'è anche modo di fare macinatura piuttosto fine, anche se diventa un po' più laborioso.L'attrezzo funziona, proverò anche con peperoncini smezzati preventivamente per vedere se la macinatura è un po' più agevole, specie sul finemente.Comunque ripeto che non ha imballo originale e a mio parere è un tipo di articolo che non è ben protetto per essere sballottato.

Das Ding ist nicht zu gebrauchen. Ich will Birds eye Chilli durchlassen, die hierfür laut Hersteller geeignet sind.Meistens kommt kaum was raus. Totale Fehlkonstruktion. Hab die Mühle leider auch meinem Schwiegervater geschenkt, weil ich dachte das die Mühle von Peugeot ein gutes Premiumprodukt sei. Bei ihm geht auch nichts.Das einzigste was funktioniert ist wenn ich die Chillis vorhacke. Da hab ich echt kein Bock drauf.Nie wieder.

Diese Pfeffermühle ist eine Zierde für jeden Tisch. Ich mag das Design sehr! Umso bedauerlicher finde ich, dass bei der ersten Lieferung der Buchenholzkopf eine Macke und einen schwarzen Strich auf dem hellen Buchenholz aufwies, der sich nicht entfernen ließ, so dass ich die Pfeffermühle zurückschicken musste (ich wollte sie verschenken). Wie gewohnt war Amazon extrem schnell mit der Ersatzlieferung. Die Ersatzmühle sowie eine weitere des gleichen Typs, die ich nachträglich bestellte, wurden leider ohne Umverpackung lieblos mit anderen Artikeln in eine viel zu große Verpackung geworfen, so dass auch hier letztlich wieder eine kleine Macke zu finden war. Wieso eine Pfeffermühle mit diesem Preis nicht wenigstens einen Umkarton hat, ist mir schleierhaft. Daran sollte der Hersteller arbeiten. Wegen dieser Probleme gibt es einen Stern Abzug.Jetzt zur Pfeffermühle selbst: Sie hat ein für meinen Geschmack wundervolles Design. Sie ist, wie ich das auch von anderen Peugeot-Pfeffermühlen mit Stahlmahlwerk kenne, leicht zu bedienen und mahlt zuverlässig fein oder grob - je nach Einstellung. Das funktioniert sehr gut. Insofern kann ich die Pfeffermühle durchaus empfehlen. Wegen der fehlenden schützenden Verpackung sollte man sich jedoch überlegen, ob man diese Pfeffermühle verschenken möchte. Übrigens wurden die Pfeffermühlen mit einem sehr aromatischen schwarzen Pfeffer befüllt geliefert.
