Little Women

Having read Little Women as a child more than fifty years ago, I was more than delighted with this edition. Everything about the OWC series make reading so much more pleasurable, particularly for books written in another country with another culture. The OWC series are the peak of excellence for the literature student and my endeavours have been made so much more pleasurable because of the insighfulness of the editors of the series.

I really enjoyed this period novel. Alcott's tale is a classic and full of memorable characters. The story provides a deep insight to women's lives in the eighteenth century. The narrative and dialogue are riveting and one is gripped by the developing story. I will certainly be giving this book another read.W.M.Aslam

I bought this book because it was one of my set books for a Univerity course. I wasn't sure I'd actually enjoy it but I did! It's a very thought provoking read and although the book was written 145yrs ago some of the things you learn are relevent in todays society. I recommend all young women read this.

I bought this book as part of a course that I studied last year with the Open University and found it very interesting and informative. I have seen the original film with different stars in it and also a newer film and think I prefer the older one with June Allyson playing the title role in it. I would recommend it as a good book to read.

I bought this book as we are reading it in our book club.In addition to the "Little Women" story, there were also lot of additional notes - background information/explanations of events in the story AND included the second book she wrote "Good Wives"
