My Art Book

This DK book is a wonderful way to introduce children and "budding artists" to the beautiful world of art. This book is full of famous artwork that the children can then try their hand at making their own creations. Lots of good information about art and artists.

This book has some really great art ideas. I usually use Pinterest to get art project ideas for homeschool art class, but this book has provided us with some fun and interesting projects. My kids have really enjoyed it so far.

This book is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I love the projects for incorporating Art into the classroom. You can make any of these projects into a learning activity and enrich the lives of the students.

It is a very good and useful book to help young people try to design things and to learn more about arts.

Art and artist study is a big deal in our Charlotte Mason style homeschool. Not only is this book beautiful, it's a great one-stop resource for our weekly art lessons! It includes kid-friendly background information and fully illustrated step-by-step art lessons for 14 different artists or time periods. We've used the book for more than 14 lessons, though, because some of the activities have great extension ideas that we use for subsequent lessons.My elementary and middle school students are both intrigued by the lessons. With my older children we often do a tad more artist/time period study than the book provides, but the art lessons are perfect for the span of ages. We chose to go through the book in order, but you can pick and choose lessons to fit your needs.With each new lesson, your children will learn a new art technique and the vocabulary to go along. We've painted with homemade dyes, created masks from found materials, gone through the printing process, used chalk pastels, created colleges and mosaics, crafted sculptures and more. There were a few items I had to specifically purchase - like clay and grout - but most of the materials were things I already had around the house. We all thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!

A great book to use at home or in school as inspiration for Primary, Key stage 3 art projects. It introduces children to famous artists and their works, showing them the techniques needed to produce their own masterpieces in the style of the artist.

Excellent book if you want ideas for art lessons or activities to do with your children.Each activity based on a famous painting/art work and also looks at other paintings by the same artist.Especially recommended for chdn aged 7-11.
