This toilet seat was very easy to install. Instructions were a little confusing at 1st, so I read them through several times before removing the old seat and installing this new one. Aligning it was so easy! Complete installation done in less than 5 minutes. And it is the most comfortable toilet seat. I have sciatic nerve pain. Since receiving this toilet seat the pain no longer lasts anymore than15 minutes at the most. It used to last 4-6 hours each day but no more! The Kohler French Curve toilet you is a great investment for anyone with sciatica.

Shipping was fast.Product looks nice.Install was super easy since my old seat used the same mounting system, so I didn’t have to replace the mounts on the bowl. I just lifted the tab covers on the old seat, slid the seat forward and off the bowl. Slid the new seat on and attached the new tab covers.It is a very slight different shades of white than my toilet bowl, but it would only be noticed by the closest of examination.The seat is higher than my old one and it is noticeable when you sit on it or when the seat covers is down. My wife says she feels like her feet are dangling off the floor, but after a few uses you get use to it.The seat positions you so your knees are a little higher. I think it is supposed to help your internals to line up to make it easier to go to the bathroom without pushing as hard. I don’t know if it works since I’ve never had any issues like that, but I like the seats look and it feels like good quality.I’m happy with this purchase.I recommend it, even though it's a little expensive. I think I paid around $70 for the French curve seat (just in case this review ends up combined with a different shaped seat reviews).

It is a definitely more comfortable seat (for those of us that have to go longer times), and the quiet seat close mechanism is very quiet (important to not wake others with the previous loud, clacky seat.) The installation instructions that were in the box were for the rapid release attachment… I did not receive that hardware. After some moderate difficulty, determined how to install the regular attachment hardware.

Nice product, easy to install.But the Grip-Tight bolt is too big for my toilet seat holes, if your toilet seat holes are 1CM like mine you need to get the small holes bolts kit with 2.5" M screws.I like the seat it feels like good quality.I’m happy with this purchase.

After reviewing several models of replacement toilet seats, we came to the conclusion that this was the same as the original that was installed when the toilet was replaced by a previous owner. It is fantastic, if one can say that about a dumb toilet seat! Easy to install by a 5 year old - just pull the two fastener covers off the back and pull the full seat to the front and it is off completely. Much easier to clean and sanitize without having to unscrew anything at all. Sleek look - and it is impossible to "slam" this seat down. Just let it go and it will sloooowly close by itself - a must for night time visits so one doesn't wake up the whole town with the "slam".

Review of seat installation for a Kohler One-Piece Toilet San Raphael, Model K-3393.The original toilet seat (model 4653-0) has been discontinued, with the replacement model being the 4713-RL. This new model is in short and Kohler was out of stock when I needed it.Many installation videos feature two-piece toilets (with a separate tank), and makes installation seem easy. But, I found out that installing this on a one-piece model was more challenging than those videos suggested.Removing the old seat.The old bolts and anchors were very difficult to remove. Part of the bolts sit partially submerged in water. Over time, rust and corrosion caused both bolts to seize up. I had to use a Dremel cutting disk to remove the bolt heads. Once the bolts were out, the old anchors still had to be drilled out. You can find several instructional videos on YouTube for this process. Kohler's sells an anchor kit (K-84999) that comes with a removal tool. The anchor kit costs around $40.Installing the new one.The new anchors that came with the toilet seat didn’t fit through the designated holes as the instructions suggested. I had to improvise a bit by pushing the anchors up from inside the toilet while carefully pulling them up from the top using long-nose pliers. This was tricky, as the tank offers very little clearance, making the holes hard to access. There is also the risk of tearing the soft silicone of the new anchors.Overall, while this seat is an adequate replacement for the original, the installation process was more complicated than expected.I hope this review helps you prepare for the installation.

This is remarkably more comfortable than most toilet seats and the soft close still works as new a year later.
