If you have patience and some time to unravel the strings and sails you won't be disappointed with the end result. The instructions to put this together are useless because all it shows is a drawn picture. I used the photo of it from here and put it together using that which made it go more smoothly.

I had high hopes for this as it was a close replica to an actual boat that I was going to gift. However upon delivery this is a horrible quality model. I didn’t expect a perfect high detail model for the price, but I wouldn’t pay $20 for this. There are glue marks and seepage everywhere. It really looks globed together, the finish quality is terrible, there are some areas where they just missed stain or allowed it to run? Almost every part that was glued together was chipped in some way, and there was even someone’s finger print that looks like it got stuck right on the base by the plaque! How this thing got through quality control is beyond me. To top it all off there is no box it comes in, just the shipping box, and the box didn’t even look like it was made for the model with no support. The shipping box looks like it was lightly dropped and caused the metal railings to be bent and chipped.I really like the model but the quality is embarrassingOverall for the price they are asking this is horrible, Amazon didn’t seem to care and said to send it back, but finding a drop off point is is a decent drive into town and I’m not going out of my way to that extent for this, so it looks like I’m stuck with it.

The sail lines weren't that hard to figure out as some reviewers would have you believe...all in all it's a very nice shelf yacht.
