Safety 1st Premium Baby Care and Precious Memories Gift Set, Multi

Everything in pack was a great value!

The tag says that this is "premium baby care," and I would tend to agree. It has nearly everything you'd want to take care of your baby in his first year: nail clippers, a broad brush, a soft brush, and a comb, a washcloth, a nose suction device (and extra filters for it), a toothbrush and a teething ring, and a thermometer.We know (and love) Safety 1st as a brand, so I shouldn't have been surprised by how many little details there were that made this kit a keeper. For instance: the nail clippers have a fold out magnifying glass, perfect for helping you feel secure as you cut a tiny baby's nails. Probably our favorite is the nose suction device. We had a nose frida, and it was invaluable in our daughter's first few months. But the nose frida isn't cheap, and then there are the extra filters for it... no need, when they're all included in this set! (And personally, I found the nose suction device in this kit to be easier to use than the nose frida.)My one criticism would be that the thermometer is digital, and we would have preferred a forehead type. Still, it has printed on the base of the thermometer the temperature at which a baby is feverish for oral, rectal, and underarm use.As a final note, the fox is adorable (although I wish I could get my husband to stop singing "What does the Fox Say?"). And better, it's gender neutral. Hooray!

Its a cute set, no doubt but how likely are you going to use ALL the items? in my opinion less likely.We are expecting our second child in less than 2 weeks. I am getting all my baby stuff out and redecorating the nursery. I am totally in my nesting phase and that is when I rearranged my safety first set too, Put some away in my hospital bag and kept the rest in mini storage baskets. It has quite a few items from health and grooming (nail clippers, hair brush, comb and a toothbrush - these are my favorites), a oral, underarm and rectal thermometer that can read the temp in 30 sec(i have the Braun thermoscan and i really like that) , a nasal aspirator (important but I'm a super fan of the fridababy aspirator so I'm biased), a wash mitt with a scalp brush (cute but i like to use a sea foam brush) to a few first time milestone cards which i don't think i will use much.It will be a great product if you don't really have preferences and may also be an excellent baby shower gift but the price in my opinion is way too high (hence the 4 stars). I do recommend it for first time moms so they can use and compare products and come up with their own favorite list.

The Safety 1st Premium Care and Precious Memories gift set is a great starter kit for First Time Moms (FTMs). It has a nice variety of bath time and baby care items (although I found some of the items to be more useful than others), and everything is packaged in a reusable wooden box.Items included:Soothing scrub cradle cap brush – easy to use, easy to clean, slip on handle is super helpful.Brush and comb with mirror – mirror on the back of the brush is nice.Clear view nail clippers – small magnifier included on clippers. Not bad, but not my favorite nail clippers on the market. Will likely keep these in the diaper bag for emergencies, not regular use.Over-the-hand washcloth – sounds like a good idea, but not the easiest to use with a slippery baby.Gum stimulator/toothbrush – okay for travel/emergency use, but I have a nicer one from my dentist.Teething flower – does the job.Nasal aspirator – better than the bulb syringes of days past, but there is a far superior nasal aspirator out there.3-in-1 thermometer – although it seems helpful to be able to use 1 thermometer 3 different ways, this is more of a jack of all trades and master of none.Photo cards by Milestone – cute bonus item! Most milestone cards are for monthly birthdays, so it’s nice to have cards that commemorate baby’s first wave, giggle, haircut, tummy time, peek-a-boo, and sleepover.

They are claiming this is $75 of items on sale for $50, but those numbers seem a tad steep to me.This box set (comes in a wooden box) is adorable, and is filled with super cute items. But most of these items we never used (wash mit, aspirator, comb, gum stimulator).And the nail clippers were kindof disappointing. Safety First makes the best baby/child nail clippers with a guard on them, so why not include them here? I really don't care for the clippers included with this set, they're clunky and the magnifying glass doesn't really work all that great.Same thing with the thermometer - Safety First makes a great forehead thermometer, but included here is the old fashioned kind, which is difficult to use on a newborn.The aspirator we've been using for the pas 5 years is just an inexpensive rubber bulb that some nurse gave us, probably a buck or two at Walmart. We don't really need the fancy kind included in this box set.The photo cards are fun, but not really anything special. There's actually very few useful items in here.
