A beautiful book
A beautiful story about a refugee child and her pebble friend. The illustrations are beautiful and my 3 year old loves this story. Beautifully way of illustrating a difficult topic for young children to understand.

Required reading!
The art is beautiful, the story is one for all people. The heart and soul of a child is so pure and adults have to come along and mess with that goodness. We would not have wars, walls, guns, drugs, ect., if we just kept our heart and soul pure as a child's. My opinion

Must read
This powerful message of friendship among refugees in a temporary placement is extraordinary to say the least. Lubna is a girl who finds comfort and friendship in a pebble in the midst of the occurrences in her world. She finds herself waking up in a tent and aside from her caring father, the pebble is all she's got. She meets a shy little boy, Amir, who, in essence, finds solace in both Lubna and her pebble. This book focuses on the connection the characters build rather than where and what they are running from. As for their identity, we only recognize them by their Muslim names. The illustrations are beautifully executed to set the tone and the mood of the story so perfectly.Definitely, an important addition to our library and would highly recommend it to yours.

Simply beautiful
A beautiful, simple story and so gorgeously illustrated. The story is a great invitation to speak about so many subjects surrounding war and the inevitable displacement of people from their homes.
