Cosmetic Dry Needling - Using Acupuncture for Cosmetic Gains for those not trained in Traditional Acupuncture theory

Great Book
I loved this book. With it, I can quickly add these treatments to my clinics. I don't think it would be enough if you were trained in traditional acupuncture but for physios or chiropractors etc who are trained in dry needling, it would be an easy add. Pretty easy to add to your beauty clinic as well. Dry needling courses are easy to complete and then you add this book for the cosmetic element. Gives you something really unique to offer.Lots of images and the explanations are clear so it definitely is not hard to follow and apply. I am looking at doing the course as well it mentions so fingers crossed it is just as good.

Overpriced and not that great
This is more of an overpriced pamphlet than a book. The information is not terrible, but not enough to really be called a book. The photos are ok, not great. The first cosmetic acupuncture course I took in the 80's had about 50 times as much information as this book and was much better organized.

Leave acupuncture to those who are trained in it.
Acupunctists are oriental medical doctors with thousands of hours of training. If you're not Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture you shouldn't be putting needles in people's faces. Professionals stick to their scope of practice.

Unique in the industry
I was really happy to find this book as there is not much else out there like it. The author has a strong background in cosmetic acupuncture, but this book is written specifically for those who can use acupuncture needles but don’t have a full background in Chinese medicine theory. It does a good job of touching on the important areas of Chinese medicine which can be easily applied without overdoing the traditional theory which is not relevant to everyone. Importantly it breaks down the use of things like distal points from both a Western and Chinese perspective so everyone can understand the importance of these practices. The book discusses a wide variety of different techniques including traditional cosmetic acupuncture and intradermals and also covers less taught techniques like lip enhancement. The pictures are good and the diagrams assist with needle depth and other technical aspects. For me, I particularly liked the scientific explanation of how cosmetic needling produces results. So many people talk about collagen induction as the key to its success and the author's experience with other treatments like microneedling allows him to tear this apart and provide other more viable explanations which really set acupuncture apart as a cosmetic treatment. This is a really good contribution to the field and as far as I know, the only book really teaching these techniques for those with a background in dry needling but not traditional acupuncture.
