12.5' Aluminum Telescoping Extension Ladder Type 1A

Bought this, and the 15.5' Extend N Climb for my brother, who is a roofing contractor. The Extend N Climb is being returned, due to stuck latches on second use, and difficult collapsing. I like the Easy Access for the de-locking rings, letting me collapse the ladder quickly and low risk of pinching/breaking my fingers. The foot rungs are excellent, ergonomically speaking, and the lip allows me to hang onto it and raise/lower it without risk of pinching my fingers. Sliding tubes move freely. Push locks/unlock buttons are easier to operate than sliding locks, to me anyway. It feels secure at full extension. Yes, it flexes, but so do the wings on a 747 aircraft. It's OK if it's strong, and this ladder is. Overall a great ladder, comparable to Telesteps but less cost. If you use this professionally, I'd look at Telesteps but not sure if they're any better, and at twice the cost. Finally, telescoping ladders have the advantage in that they can be a precise length, allowing the user to make it the length the need, instead of risking injury by using a shorter ladder and standing on the top step. Get it and you'll be happy you did.

Works great, actually heavier than I thought it would be, but is very sturdy and stable.But ... the manual is about 1*. The part about how to collapse the ladder down is so poorly written that I had to play with it for a good 30 minutes to figure it out. The first 3 minutes were very painful as I manager to smash all of my fingers. To their credit they do say to not put you fingers in the inside of the ladder step area. But my gosh the are several better ways to describe how the ladder folds up.The key is that for each section that you want to collapse the trigger for the next section is on the currently collapsing section. So when you collapse a section near the bottom it will automatically release the next section up to collapse down. And that section will release the next up section and so on. So you always want to hold on the tubes for the section above the currently collapsing segment. This way you can control the collapse rate of each segment as it releases the next section to collapse. If you don’t you could hurt your fingers quite badly.Would buy again now that I know how it works.Vendor note: add a short video showing how to collapse the ladder an save some fingers!

Not even a 1 star. Ladder is junk, broke within the first couple uses and now wont work at all. I reached out to see if they could fix this problem and no response. Do not buy this ladder.

Works just fine so far

Easy to use and very sturdy and heavy duty. Much easier to use than a previous ladder I had that was very difficult. I plan to use this in my Motor Home, very compact and easy to store.

Very happy with this purchase. Where an A-Fame ladder won't cut it and a huge extension ladder is a pain to store, transport, and move around with. This ladder gets the job done! I was happy how sturdy it was fully extended. It is great for cleaning gutters, second story windows, attic access, roof access and more. It is very easy to set up different heights. Break down is just as easy and it stores just about anywhere. I would suggest for any homeowner, inspector, or handyman. Great product at a great price!
