Really nice tool

This is a very strong, solid tool that will have no problem smashing and crushing foods.Acacia is a hard, beautiful wood, so this stick reflects those natural benefits.It would easily get 5 stars if it weren't for some cosmetic flaws.There are at least a half dozen dings along the handle that look like they were made by the tip of a flat head screwdriver, all the same but at different angles.And the large end of the tool is smooth and well finished while the small end feels like the final finishing stage was missed, so it's somewhat rougher.But it will get the job done.I hope this helps. Very nice. Wood is beautiful. One end of the tamper fits wide mouth jars while the other end fits regular mouth jars. I recently made kimchi and could have really used this. Unfortunately mine did have a small crack so I can't give 5 stars. I will certainly be using this anyway.

This functions perfectly, allows me to really put some weight on my kraut cabbage once it’s on the jar and cleans up easily. I did add a layer of food safe beeswax and olive oil conditioner to it because I felt bad about how dried out it looked compared to all my other wooden kitchen tools.

This is an amazing tool! I never knew such a tool existed?! I’ve broken glass when I push down cabbage in a jar too hard with my hands. This amazing tool prevents that! It’s gentler, while still getting the job done!It’s beautiful too! EXCELLENT QUALITY! I have it displaying out on my counter because it’s so nice!Everyone that preserves food/cans needs this!!!

Beautiful tamper. I got this for when I eventually make sauerkraut again. Fits in a mason jar! Love that it is made in America. The finish on mine is nice smooth. Will work perfect for what it's designed for, smashing cabbage.
