Great addition to my Fender Hot Rod Deville 410
The Hot Rod Deville 410 is a nice amp but at 60 watts of tube power it is a lot of amp! I felt like when over driven or when a Big Muff fuzz was engaged it sounded a little fizzy. I had heard that lower gain tubes can help smooth that out, plus make the volume sweep more usable. The 5751 tube indeed fit the bill. I am really enjoying the musicality and dynamics of this tube. I had a 12au7 lying around and tried it in the V1 slot and it sounded like the proverbial "wet blanket" sound. I had also seen a video by Phillip McKnight where he placed a 12at7 in V1 to make the volume more usable. However, with a little research I found the 5751 tube is more suitable as a replacement. It has to do with circuits and voltage and stuff I know very little about, but I figured I'd go with what the amp might accept easier. This is a broad topic with much info out there on the inter-webs with many different thoughts and opinions. What I can say is I like this tube, it makes my single coils sound more "tubey" if that makes sense. The volume is more usable and the overdriven sounds are less fizzy in this beast of an amp. Believe me, it is still LOUD, just a bit more tame. Before you go changing speakers or doing other more expensive mods to shape your tone, try this relatively cheap $19 mod first.

Great tube for Orange Micro Terror
I bought this tube to use in my Orange Micro Terror amp to replace the stock 12AX7. If you play blues and classic rock, this tube is a must-have. Allows you to turn the gain up a bit to get great tube tone without going into heavier "metal" distortion territory with no noticeable loss of volume. With the gain at 12 o'clock and my tele guitar volume all the way up, I now get a really nice fat clean with just the slightest hint of dirt. Gain at 1 o'clock goes into Jimi territory that breaks up with harder strumming but is still under control. With the stock tube, I was getting pretty heavy distortion with any gain setting past noon. Very, very happy with this tube.

You should consider this tube to warm up the sound
The media could not be loaded. I installed the 5751 in the preamp section of my Monoprice 5 watt stage amp. The installation is very easy, I removed the original 12X7 and switch it with the 5751. No further adjustment is necessary. The result was quite a surprise. At 5 watt now I have very similar volumes, more headroom and a warmer and fuller tone. At 1 watt I didn't notice any difference. Before I was not using the 5 watt channel because the amp was breaking up right away, now is my favorite channel, clean and warm. I highly recommend this swap.

Installed in my Behringer VT999
I swapped the crappy stock tube in my Behringer Vintage Tube Monster with this thing a few years ago. It's a really impressive improvement. I've gigged and traveled with it and have had no issues. Sounds great. Love the tonal range. The main reason I got it is because it cleans up nicely at really low gain, so I can get warm clean tube amp tones, but it also sounds great turned up, and sounds even better with a transparent OD pedal pushing it.

Sounds great in my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III
Sounds great in my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III.Added the JJ5751s to V1 & V2 positions with a 12AU7 in V3 and the result is a much smoother and more musical overdrive then the stock 12AX7 tubes that originally came with the amp. I've now actually stopped using my expensive overdrive pedal in favor of the Hot Rod Channel Two overdrive. It sounds that good.P.S. Some folks are using a 12AT7s in the Hot Deluxe but I found these tubes make the amp very thin sounding.

Excellent tube to replace a 12AX7
JJ's are a bit clangy at times but they did a good job on this one. I used it to tame a class A, 7 watt Diablo amp that had a bit too much gain for me. Good choice for blues.

Great tube replacement for a standard 12AX7
Great tube replacement for a standard 12AX7, especially when you want to tame down a dirty preamp channel for more crunch and less bite. It warms up the tone, and lowers preamp gain about 30% so you can rely a bit more on the power amp tubes for that classic "tube sound". A great upgrade for a BadCat Cougar 50. also for a Blackheart. I've tried them in both with great results. JJs have always been very reliable for me.

Clean channel fix for 6505+ 112 Combo
Wow! So I'm playing a 6505+ 112 Combo and must admit that the cleans have left a lot to be desired. My amp even has a low gain JJ set inside (V1, V4, V5 - ECC83S / V2, V3 - ECC832 / 2x 6L6GC) which make the lead channel sound great. I decided to try a JJ 5751 in V1 as I've read that it can clean up the clean channel a lot. Well, I finally have some really nice cleans. This one tube in V1 definitely offers way more headroom than I expected. I even noticed that the lead channel, while still heavy, is smoother. Overall, it is a must have for this amp.
