The product is not worth the money
Since the day I colored my hair every time I wash it the color is coming out with the water for approximately a month, and the color just faded like that even tho it supposed to be dark. I don’t recommend it all 👎🏻

was the product tampered with?
I've been consistently using the same shade of IGK hair color for years, but my recent experience with a new package was quite disappointing. The developer was packaged in a bag, and unfortunately, the product leaked out into it. I wondered if the manufacturer changed their packaging. Despite finding this unusual, I decided to proceed with the application. Regrettably, that turned out to be a mistake. In an attempt to salvage the leaked developer, I followed the instructions to mix the color and developer together and applied it to my hair. Around 20 minutes into the processing time, I checked the color, only to discover it had taken on a strange dark orangy-green hue. Undeterred, I continued processing for the recommended 40 minutes.Upon rinsing the color out, I noticed that my hair was darker than usual, but that was something I could live with, assuming it would correct itself in the next touch-up in a few weeks. However, after washing and styling, I observed that my hair appeared fried, with excessive hair loss. Strands were falling out in alarming quantities, and I've even developed a couple of bald spots at my hairline.Initially, I attributed the hair loss to the changing seasons here in Arizona, but after several weeks, considering the worsening condition of my hair, I am genuinely concerned about the contents of the developer bottle. My hair has become extremely dry, frizzy, and laden with split ends, making it challenging to even comb through.Given this experience, I've decided never to order my hair color through Amazon again. I suspect the possibility of tampering with the hair color kit I received, which has resulted in significant damage to my hair.

I was hesitant but it's really good!
I saw some really negative reviews so I kept passing this up. I'm really glad I finally did. I have fine, thin-ish curly hair.●one box was enough for me●the color is pretty!●It didn't cover all the gray but I didn't leave it on the whole 45 minutes because I was worried about damage.●next time I'll do the whole 45 minutes in my roots. And just do 5 on the colored part as a refresher.●next time I'll use my bowl and brush instead of the bottle. It's think and it's hard to know of it's being dispensed evenly.●I went a shade lighter and I'm glad. The 9GV Olsen came out like 8 at the roots. NO Brassiness!! I pull red and this lifted correctly.●Lastly, my hair did feel dry when I washed it but the conditioner they give you is good. I don't know how much damage it will or will not be. I'll report back after a month with a picture to tell yall if the color lasts.●I had some toner on hand in case it pulled red or it wasn't golden enough. I didn't use it yay!●I will buy this again.

Resulting Color Is Much Darker Than Expected
I’ve been dying my hair for 20+ years. I’ve used everything from prepackaged color to hand mixing custom professional tint & developer. I’m old and lazy, so it’s boxed color most of the time.First time using IGK and I picked a color one shade lighter(6AG) hoping to get a shade match to Clairol Age Defy 5A. I did a strand test and it looked like match. When time came to do my color, I found the mixed product to be thicker than expected & using a squeeze bottle was not ideal. This stuff was developed to be applied with a brush & it shows. (When I use Igora Color, I add extra developer to improve flow out of a bottle)In spite of choosing level 6 instead of the desired 5, The final color was WAY darker than expected. I wanted light brown, but what I got was almost black (level 4) with a weird purple/mahogany tint. In spite of processing for the recommended 45 minutes, my mostly grey roots still came out a shade lighter than the rest of my hair.I did manage to get the shade I wanted (light Ash Brown) by mixing 2 Parts DIRTY BLONDE (Dark Beige Blonde 7VG) with 1 Part FRENCH RIVIERA (Light Beige Brown 6AG) to lighten it.I like the resulting color, but to be fair, if I'm going to be mixing shades every time I color my hair, then it would be much more economical to just buy tubes of professional permanent color and mix with a separate developer. ($15 as opposed to $60 for the IGK)Overall I like the gentle formula and the final condition of my hair, but IGK colors don’t look natural & the results unpredictable, so my search continues. My advice when trying IGK for the first time is to start with 2 shades lighter than the desired final result. You can always go darker next time. In my case, I stripped out the embarrassingly dark color using COS Color Remover and redid my color with 7VG. The result was closer to the light brown shade I was looking for, but not the Dark Blond written on the box.Update: The Violet/Gold tones in the 7VG shade had washed out the first week and the color had been shifting more orange with subsequent shampoos necessitating a recolor with the two blended shades listed above. That combination, although darker brown, is also turning to a shade of orange.I’ve changed my rating from three stars to just two.

Nice shine, but does not cover stubborn grays.
I'm currently in Florida and not in Chicago where my regular hairdresser is, and occasionally, I do get the urge to color my hair at home. I have to start by saying that I don't regret purchasing this or using it on my hair, but most likely won't be buying it again in the future. For an at-home color, it is pretty decent and does give your hair a nice shine. The value for the money is not great if you have anything longer than chin-length hair, especially if you have a lot of hair. I have hair slightly past my shoulders, so not super long by any means, but I did need two boxes. I should also point out that I do have very color-resistant gray hair. I left this color on my roots for almost 50 minutes, and I did not get good coverage on my gray hair at all. The color touched all of the gray roots and did leave a light to medium brunette shade, however, the rest of my hair is dark brown, as was the color I selected. So, sadly, this was a huge failure for root coverage. I can live with this for a couple of weeks, but I will eventually need to bite the bullet and go and get my roots touched up by a professional. Why am I still giving this product 3 stars, you ask? It's because I believe that if you're not trying to cover gray hair or if you don't have color-resistant grays, like me, this could work out well. Keep in mind that you will probably need two boxes, unless you have short hair, in which case, one box should do the trick. Also, I saw a couple of reviews where the reviewer was expecting to go lighter - these types of at-home hair colors will not lighten your hair so please keep that in mind. Most of us veteran color users know this already. LOL.
