Does the job
This big slab of a laptop charger is about double the size of my HP Omen's original charger. It works fine though and seems to charge at a similar rate to the original HP item.Gets a bit warm, but not alarmingly so.It's a fair bit cheaper than the official product too, so happy to recommend it.

A heavy beast of a power brick
If you’re thinking about getting this for travel use, don’t. There’s one very simple reason- it’s incredibly heavy. Even without taking the 3-pin plug part into consideration, it’s almost 800g my itself, and it’s not small either. This charger alone will take up a hefty proportion of your carry-on luggage allowance! Other chargers that work with my ZBook are much lighter and smaller.Functionally though, it does everything it’s supposed to do, including churn out a very very fast charge, which makes me want to upgrade my ZBook just to take advantage of it. It works without any fuss, and doesn’t get hot even after prolonged use on a hot day. If it’s going to be getting installed at an office desk, it will do the job very nicely. Any ZBook is able to charge from it, even if it can’t take advantage of the maximum charging speed. It’s an ugly brick that feels like it belongs in the world of 1980’s tech when power bricks were hefty, black monsters, so I wouldn’t want it on display on my desk if I could possibly avoid it. It even says “Replacement AC Adapter” on it in large letters, which is quite an unprofessional look- but thankfully the underside is blank. If this is going to be tucked away under your desk where you won’t see it, and all you’re interested in is HP laptop power and nothing else, then this ticks the right boxes and is really futureproof as it should be capable of powering laptops for at least one or two more upgrade cycles- provided you stick with HP of course.
