VellemanMK133 Expandable Quiz Table

This was the first soldering project with my 11 and 8 year olds. It was a fun project that's just about the right amount of work to feel real accomplishment when it works without being completely overwhelmed that it will never be done. Additionally, it produces something they can actually use. Instructions were easy to follow and the kit has extra holes for the switches so that you can add bell wire and momentary switches to make remotes. Most of the holes were far enough apart to be done by an inexperienced hand, but a few of them were close enough together to have to really try.

Was fun to assemble and good easy instructions! One LED would not stay on. I found one cold solder joint, that I re-soldered.

Doesn’t work

Great for class game, fun for students to build.

This kit turns your Jeopardy or other trivia game into one like you see on TV. The first person to press their switch button gets to answer. It is for 4 players (expandable to 8) plus a quiz master to ask questions and to reset. From the pictures, you can see there are a lot of parts to solder in. In the 3rd picture, I have added remote switches using 1/2" PVC pipe, momentary contact switches and lengths of 3' to 4' of wire. This allows players to sit across the table and press their buttons like on Jeopardy.If it doesn't work at first check all your solder connections and make sure of polarity. Mine didn't work at first. Some parts fell out of the bag so I was missing parts when I thought I was done. After finding them and installing them, it worked great.
