(3 Pack) Lion Brand Yarn Nuboo Bamboo Yarn, Hazelnut

Gorgeous yarn, so soft. You do have to pay attention because it isn’t wound super tightly. I originally bought it at Joann’s, but they have stopped selling it completely. Sad, because I am addicted! I don’t love the companion brand which they have chosen to keep, the Truboo. It’s not as smooth and silky. Had to pay a premium to buy extra skeins here to finish my project. I would not normally pay this much for any yarn, hence the 4 star review…solely based ion price.

I bought this for a pattern designed for size 4 yarn - or roughly size 8-10 US knitting needles. It is much finer than I was expecting, and ended up better suited on size 5 US needles, somewhere around a thickness level 2. The quality is perfectly fine, it's got a sort of silky feel to it that I would use on a spring garment, I just wish the size was better communicated.

Definitely not for beginner crocheters. I am an experienced crocheter but it was difficult to hold the tension with such slippery yarn. Moreover the yarn split every 2-3 stitches so it was "one step backwards for two forward". Very frustrating. Lastly, although it was supposed to be a pull skein, I had to go into the middle to pull out the start. And if that wasn't enough the middle of the skein came out and it turned out not to be the middle of the skein but attached to the outside. Very disappointing. Soft and slippery, yes. For beginners, no. Maybe it will work better for knitters although they don't like yarn that splits either.

This yarn has a wonderful soft and silky feel but splits very badly and is slippery to work with.

This yarn has a beautiful sheen. It’s lovely to work with, it holds together, and the strands do not separate. It knits into a supple fabric with beautiful drape.
