This phone has a known issue which is resolved by updating the firmware. The problem is that you have to send it to Dora for them to do it. You CAN'T do it yourself. They advised that we returned the phone to AMAZON and purchased directly from them so that we got the latest firmware. This is a terrible inconvenience for an elderly person to have to do the administration and logistics of returns etc. Why they cannot allow a user/family member to do the updating I don't know. So be aware things are not exactly as they would have you believe. The fault was a stuck egg timer when deleting texts.

I totally fell in love with this phone until I realised it is not secure.Anyone can get into it unless it is turned off in which case you can use a PIN to turn it on - however incoming calls will not ring and will go to straight to voicemail when phone is turned off.When phone is on but screen is off (which is how it will be used majority of time) anyone can get into it - there is no way of stopping this..As this is aimed at older customers I can imagine this being a serious problem if you are in a shared facility such as a hospital or care home. Even if you are not, its not a good idea for everyone to be able to get into your mobile phone.All Doro phones have the same problem according to their customer service..real shame. I'll keep it as a backup phone but will have to find something else for main use.

Bought this to replace an older Doro model which my wife had been very pleased with, however this model " Doro 1370 " has left us both disappointed as its obviously faulty, and unusually for Amazon they didn't immediately arrange a replacement,/ return, what they did was to try a number of suggestions over the phone, none of which worked, and now they have passed me on to the seller who happen to be DORO UK and I now have to allow Doro 48hrs to get back to me for what is obviously a software fault. The fault became obvious the 1st time I tried to send a text because the space bar/ zero button would not move the cursor on the screen, the cursor just remained stationary, so that's it ,no texting, and a hugely annoyed, and disappointed wife, and a buyer who used to think Amazon customer service was second to none. Won't be buying another Doro, I'll just have to buy some junk that's made in China,as opposed to this Doro which is allegedly Swedish.

I have used a similar Doro phone for a few years and really like it, so I got one of these for my mum to replace her trusty 20 year old Nokia, as she now has trouble seeing its tiny screen. This Doro phone is pretty big for a basic mobile ( about iphone 5 size ) so all the buttons are nice and big and the screen display shows everything big and clear. You can set the ringer good and loud and when speaking to someone you can hear them loud and clear as well. There is speed dial button to put in your most used numbers which makes calling people very easy. The torch and camera are both handy. She dosn't use it that much ( she generally uses her landline ) so the battery usually lasts at least a week. If you just need a good simple phone to call and text without having to worry about all the latest tech of a smartphone, then this is great...and it also looks quite good in white too.

Just bought this for my elderly mother. She only wants a mobile to be able to make the occasional call if she needs too. She finds the buttons on mobile phones too small and she needed something that was really simple to use. This is ideal. It has a good clear screen. You can put 10 numbers on speed dial so she just has to press a keypad number to call me. You can make text bigger. The sound can be made to be quite loud. Keypad buttons are clear and a bit bigger than normal phones. It's great if you wanted to text too. It's got various features. Love it, just what I was looking for, well done Doro! You need to buy a 2g SIM for it. Only about 50p and I bought mine from Amazon, from a well known Internet only based provider who gives £5 free credit and then I set it up as pay as you go only for my mum, you don't have to purchase a package. The phone was easy to set up.
