A beautiful edition filled with art
The book is smaller than you might expect but the quality is fabulous and it is full of insightful words from some of the best fantasy artists of the past 100 years.

So many memories
Let's address the elephant in the room. "Shoo, elephant! Gwan, get out of here!!!" Okay, now we can talk about the size of the book. It's probably smaller than you imagine, being a bit bigger than a paperback novel, and a good bit smaller than the coffee table book you probably hoped it was. "Worlds Beyond Time: Sci-Fi Art of the 70s" is a good book, that's bigger than this, and exactly one of those coffee table books, BUT I honestly think "Masterpieces of Fantasy Art" presents the artwork much better, and overall feels better quality. While it's nice to have a big book sitting around, THIS feels like a book to be read. While there is text in three languages for each of the subjects, the actual art is not repeated. Many pieces are given full and double page spreads, along with bios of the artists. I was aware of Julie Bell the artist and wife of Boris Vallejo but I never knew what she looked like. It was a SURPRISE. Oh boy, Boris had a type. For twenty notes, right now, this is a steal. It's full of the book covers and the album art that you grew up with, if you're my sort of age, and is a treasure trove of lechery and historical mind-crime if you're one of the younger generation. Look, the women warriors needed less armour because they were BETTER than the men. It was a simpler time.Easy thumbs up for me.

Very enjoyable
Really love this book but just gave it 4 stars as they missed out so many brilliant artists (and included too much about ones that have had more than enough coverage .. there are lots of books of Frazetta etc, as wonderful as he is), was hoping for more Bruce Pennington, Barry Windsor Smith and others. Still, great to read this book (in three languages) and see all these amazing images, at least it is more affordable than the £150 version (and I think there is also an even more expensive volume available)

Great
If you like Fantssy Art then this book is by one of the best, great images some full spread. This is a smaller version of the book but it doesn’t distract from the art

A beautiful book with breathtaking art
It's a little on the small side, but there are so many breathtaking images here and seeing some of these artists side by side really brings out the contrast between them. I dislike how some images are spread across pages I'd just rather have a larger book or foldouts. It does feel great in the hand and I gleefully go through it at times.
