Everyone lies
A female Sheldon (Big Bang Theory) where everything has to make sense in her scientific mind. Naive with no social skills, raised in a fake Christian household, and too pretty for her own good, it's a wonder she got as far in life as she did. Thank goodness for the misfit people in her world who actually stopped following the crowd and began thinking for themselves, questioning why something was done only because that's the way it's always been done. It's folks like her that have been instrumental in encouraging changes in our society. If you have an open mind, can empathize with the character and understand how her upringing has molded her thoughts and actions as an adult, you will enjoy this book.

Too bad
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus is quite readable. The book is very feminist and very anti God and religion. Since it seems to me that feminism and insisting that God has to be taken out of everything has only made the world worse, it’s hard to think Elizabeth Zott is a real heroine. It’s ultimately a sad book with a lot of sad characters.
