Super bright light, but expensive. 4.5 stars
This brass/copper LED low voltage landscape light was purchased to replace one of our last old HD Malibu landscape lights. This light was easy to install, as it came with directions and two grease nut connectors. My husband had it installed in minutes. The direction say to apply ant poisoning next to each light to reduce ant infestation after new installation. I have never seen that on any of the other light directions. Maybe there’s something in the grease nut that attracts ants, I’m not sure. We have slowly been replacing each older style corroded metal light with solid brass or bronze fixtures that have heavy duty plastic spikes. I’m curious how these plastic spikes will hold up in the hot Florida sun, or in the freezing northern temperatures. The metal spikes corroded much too fast. This fixture has more of a new bright pinkish copper finish, I’m hoping it patinas over time but it’s set in the shrubs so the color is not noticeable The fixture is fully adjustable and it’s easy to access the lightbulb when it needs replacing. A set screw is used to hold the housing in place, but it doesn’t actually screw into a hole. Two rubber gaskets prevent water infiltration into the light’s housing. I’m amazed at how much brighter this one light is versus some other lights. This light fixture is substantially more expensive than my other new lights. It is solidly made but I’m not sure the price is justified. $50-55 is a more competitive price point. I wanted to take a point off for price but didn’t. I will update in time as the light sustains more weather.

Good design and materials, with workmanship issues
Good basic design, made with good materials. The base is nicely machined from solid brass. The housing is made from heavy copper tube, with a brushed finish. The stake is thick plastic with reinforcing ribs; it appears strong and well-reinforced in the places where these stakes normally break. As opposed to aluminum, the plastic will not corrode or freeze on to the brass base. The issues are with workmanship: 1) The copper housing has glue splatters, making it look like it was a returned product with mud stains, 2) The first o-ring that seals between the housing and base is the wrong thickness (too thin), so it does not form a seal at all, making it useless against water ingress, 3) The copper housing had a large burr at the bottom, where it meets the base, so the burr would scrape against the o-ring, causing it to tear. I had to remove the burr with a de-burring tool. For the high price, I expected better workmanship. There are other pro-grade lights in the same price range that are much better made. Not recommended.

NO SAFETY CERTIFICATION LABEL – No Way am I using this landscape light around my home
NO SAFETY CERTIFICATION LABEL – No Way am I using this landscape light around my home I am adamant that any electrical device used in my home be safety certified as UL or ETL Listed and Labeled. ETL and UL are electrical product safety testing laboratories that are independent from the manufacturer. Recently a new safety standard requirement and labeling requirement is being used that is almost as good as UL or ETL. That new safety standard is UKCA. If this landscape lighting was safe to use then surely the manufacturer would have submitted it to the safety testing independent laboratories for testing and safety certification. I wonder why the manufacturer did not bother to obtain the safety certification. One of the website product description pictures shows the UL Listed & Labeled safety certification LOGO in great detail. Displaying that UL LOGO is what tricked my into buying this fixture. I was tricked into thinking that the fixture, itself, and the electric cord were safety certified. I believe the website description is misleading. I have attached that picture so that you can see the misleading UL logo. Perhaps the website description only intended to mislead by claiming that the included LED bulb was UL Listed & Labeled. If that is the case then the not even the LED bulb I received was safety certified UL Listed & Labeled as the website description pictures falsely implied that it would be. From the attached photograph of the included bulb label you can clearly see that not even the bulb has the UL safety certification label. You can buy safety certified UL Listed & Labeled landscape fixtures from sellers all over Amazon. The fixture itself must have the safety certification label. This fixture has NO such safety certification label. The electric cord must be safety certified to be the kind of electric cord that can be buried in the ground. The electric cord has NO such safety certification label. I am so disappointed. I really wanted to enjoy this landscape light, but it is not safe to use. It is going right into my metal recycling bin.
