S&B Filters 75-5106 Cold Air Intake For 2009-2019 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 / 3500 Classic Body Style 5.7L Hemi (Oiled Cleanable, 8-ply Cotton Filter)

I ordered this kit for my 2017 RAM 1500. The installation took about an hour and a half to do. The directions were some of the best that I have seen in a long time. During my research on intakes in general, everyone spoke highly of the S&B product. I can now say that I agree 100%. The quality and how the whole system goes together is great. It looks awesome under the hood fit and finish wise. I only had one issue with the installation and that was the tube seal not sitting correctly. This is the seal that seals the intake tube in the intake box. It had a bad habit of coming off completely and would be left hanging on the intake tube. After a couple of trys with rotating it each time, it now seems to stay put. One thing that I could not find when I was researching this intake was a lot of reviews regarding sound. The sound that this intake gives my truck makes me smile ear to ear every time I step on it. I should also note that under normal driving it sounds stock which in my opinion is awesome. You only hear it when you want to hear it. It sounds the best between 2,000 rpm and 4500 rpm. It gives the truck a nice deep tone that it was missing in stock form. I cannot speak on if there is any fuel mileage improvement because I cant keep my foot off the gas lol. I will say that it helped the throttle response and the truck feels like it has slightly more getup in the low rpm range. I would recommend this setup 100%

I was on the fence about getting this due to so many contrary opinions on it. For me, it was worth it. I didn’t believe it’d make a big difference in sound over stock, but boy oh boy. Made my wife and I smile when we took it for a drive...made it sound mean when we accelerated. I feel it improved throttle response a tad, and improved the “fun factor” a lot. To each their own on this, but I’m glad I got it. I’ll say the install wasn’t terrible, but it was a challenge. I almost docked a star because of it, but everything was there and fit perfect. I circled each step when I was done with it, and made notes along the way. I also used an extra person when I reconnected the wheel liner to the S&B air box. Take your time and be sure before you complete a step. Get this. Have fun. Good luck.

Install wasn't too tough. Nice that they send a few body clips because you will break some. Minus a few star for the plexiglass screws. I have had to replace 3/4 now as they keep falling out.**Update** Dropped to 1 star. The air box has started to warp. The acrylic window no longer fits properly. It's a real fight to get it to seat on the seal. Pretty disappointing for the money.

WOW!!!I feel like I am driving a race car. I added this to my 2016 Ram Rebel. I already had replaced the muffler with a Bora and that added a little extra sound (not much) and a little extra performance (not much). But when I added the S&B, driving my truck was like night and day! I went out of my sub-division and almost peeled out with 37" M/T tires without trying. The jump in the truck was crazy. The sound is low and strong.I drove it about 15 miles on the freeway to test the MPG. It doesn't appear to add any mpg, but the drive is so amazing. I couldn't hardy go to sleep last night thinking about it. I can't wait to drive my truck today. I imagine my mpg is going to go down slightly, because the performance this thing adds makes you want to press down on the gas pedal.

I decided to try this one instead of the K&N I had in my 2009 Ram. This one looks better fit and finish wise. Install was pretty straight forward. I took my time. It is LOUD when you get on it and I do notice more throttle response especially mid throttle. You can hear the MDS more than usual but I am very happy with the look and sound. It sounds like the 5.7 Hemi Challenger when you get on it. I have a pedal commander as well and it makes the truck really fun to drive especially with this intake.

I want to be fully honest with my full experience with this productI have very little car experience, I can do an oil change on my own, and follow directions when my dad tells me now to help him on his car, that’s about it on engine work.So I watch the video and decided to try it, because I really did want my truck to be a little bit faster, and I just knew it could be, so I checked the reviews and decided to buy this one based on the reviews alone,Then I saw the pictures and compared it with be pictures in the other similar products on this website; and once again redecided to buy it for a second time because how it looked in the pictures compared to the other ones, and just as it looked in and off its self.I think it looks pretty coolIt was the hardest this I may have ever done in my lifeI don’t know if it was meMy carOr..:I got it done ✅With two days of work for me2-3 hours of work per dayWith breaks of courseAnd I honestly gave it five stars all around because I was just so satisfied and impressed with how well it workedAnd I really mean itThe ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi was for sure accelerating faster,And it was enough to feel the difference and notice the difference, which is exactly what I wanted from this product, and from my ram 1500So I would recommend this to someone as of now; can not speak to how this affects my truck in the long term, though i again went with this product because I knew I would only be adding so much to my truck, and engine, so as to only offset my truck reliable so much, if my other option is to get a super charger; new truck, or new engine, this really isn’t so bad for 300 bucksI tollally recommendation getting the red filter, you know what I mean; the recleanable filter;I don’t recommend the white dry replace filter,In my personal and professional opinion; the red one is clearly way more heavy duty, and you can always replace it if you need to either way.I would also recommend buying the air filter bag that is made by the same company because it will help you filter last longer, which is actually protecting your engine,My one complaint, is the air hose for the fuel, they have you replace this black tube hose line about 2 inches thick,And the replacement they give you did not work right for me, I had to make it work; and plan on relooking at it in the future to improve on it,My problem was it connected to me engine with out any problems at all,Though their own hose did not connected to the tube properly, I had to drive to the parts store with the tube lose; and spend a long time forcing it in place as well as I could to get it to stay.As for does this get the ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi with the six speedAnd I mean 6 speed automatic transmission to accelerate faster, it for sure doesWhy did I make a big deal out this, it is unfortunately the 8 speed is know to help the truck be faster and some how us have the 6 speed, though now I feel like this really might have made enough of a difference that this trucks is faster then the 8 speed; I have not tested it yet, feel like a good difference to me.This does make the engine louder for sure, and I do like that. It sounds good, and it feels good;To be be honest I do miss the old sound in a way; I have the duel rear tipped mopar factory exhaust on my truck, and I use the think the 5.7 Hemi had a unique sound to it, like lightning striking fear into the hearts of near by drivers, and while now it’s louder, it lost some of its unique sound and blends a little more in with the sound of people who also have cold air intakes on their car, even blending a little more with the sound of the 3.6 litterpenastar v6 with the cold air intake

Great intake in my Ram 1500. Installed in about an hour, very clean look, all the tubes, bolts etc lined up perfectly.If you’re looking for an intake for your Hemi... THIS IS THE ONE! Looks sweet and sounds awesome.Mileage did get better as well, but took a few months to notice cuz I just loved the sound what you’re hammering on it! Sounds best from about 1300-3200rpm.I’ve had many intakes from many manufacturers, and S&B have them all beat! I

The air box came quick, was all there and other than a few install problems (the bung on the plastic intake was a bugger to get the cross over hose onto even with a bit of the grease supplied). Other than that, I love the look, sound and hopefully the fuel economy but that may take some time as I love the sound when you stomp the throttle. Would buy again if needed.

Put it on my 14 ram 1500 5.7L a hour before a road trip. Super easy to install, don't even have to remove wheel liner as you can pop the two rivets out on the edge and work around them.After 3000km trip all hardware was still tight and filter was still clean. Only reason i didn't give 5 stars was the filter i had received was bent/dented but not punctured, They offered to replace it but only if i sent a picture of it cut up and it would take 2 weeks to get a replacement (was 1500km from home and was not an option, no local store carried them as well)Truck is tuned with bed cover and i averaged 11/100km out of a 3000km trip through mountains and flats. Helps the truck breath

Very happy with it. Arrived before it was expected. The filter was in the housing and difficult to remove, but it figured it out, easy to do. Looking forward to installing it. My only regret, getting the cotton filter, it came damaged and no cleaner to clean it. So another expense I was not prepared for.

I like it cause makes my truck sound much better. I wouldn’t say faster. Also it’s easy to install, and does save a minimul amount of fuel. Also it just looks great under the hood.
