Number 1 for making injera---Use it
We purchased this item to be used for making Injera. My wife is Ethiopian (Oromo) and knows how to make traditional authentic Injera. We tried using a iron (heavy), light aluminum, Teff from Amazon and from a local middle eastern grocery all with no luck.I wasn't so sure a hot plate purchased in the USA would meet her requirements, as she is very particular and exacting. Also, other reviewers had given this plate low marks with making Injera. Actually I had given up on her being successful with the tools and ingredients in the USA.I quietly went ahead and made the purchase. We both agreed that if it didn't work out the first try it would be sent back; thanks to Prime.The day after it arrived was the big test. She had prepared the batter the night before. In the afternoon she turned on the unit to 500, and next thing I hear is her calling me to kitchen telling me to give this unit 5 stars.She said that the unit makes the best Injera, even better than what she made in Ethiopia. According to her the batter had not set long enough, yet it still worked better than she could ever have expected.Then came time for the taste test. In my opinion great, and in her opinion "number 1"...."In all the planet never see anything make injera like this" her words.

It’s an OK product
I like it’s size , the only one I found in the market. However, It is a little too expensive for a simple Teflon coated pan!Also, can’t get the pizzas to crisp on the edges!

must have for lefsa!
I bought this for my son for Christmas and he was overjoyed! Everyone in our family has one and it's a must have in my family! Some members restrict using it for lefsa only but others use it for pizza and other dinner items. Works as expected and been buying this brand for years.
