Wellver Dog Backpack Saddle Bag Travel Packs for Hiking Walking Camping

When we found out our dog loves hiking and rock scrambling we decided it was time that she learned to carry her own supplies. I first ordered the medium size of the compact backpack. My dog is not big. She is a catahoula mix about the size of a lab. When I measured her she should have fit perfectly with room to spare. But with all of the buckles loosened the pack was still super tight and she showed some discomfort sitting down. We also noticed this style of pack was super wobbly and would slide sideways within minutes. So I saw that the large came in a completely different style and decided to try that out instead. HUGE IMPROVEMENT. I did have to cut and shorten the two lower straps myself because the large was just way too big. But there’s no more sliding when we walk. She looks much more comfortable, she can carry much more, it’s breathable, and the d ring on top next to the handle keeps her leash from getting under her feet when we have to use it. For all of you owners with wide medium sized dogs, just know you may have to make some minor adjustments yourself. That’s the only reason I’ve given it 4 stars.

I am very satisfied with this backpack. It is very secure on my 47 lb australian shepherd. I moved into a large city up north and due to the early sunset and small living space, I need to maximize my dog's exercise time. I read that adding a pack to walking helps tire out your dog faster.I got the pack in an extra large based on my dog's weight, but ended up needing a large based on his measurements. So if you don't know whether to go with measurements or weight, order based on the measurements. It is very sturdy and stays in place well. the pack does lean if you add a ton of weight to one side and not the other, but that is going to happen with any backpack and this one only moves a tiny bit. The pockets are decently sized. The pocket sizes go up with the size of the pack so an XL pocket will be bigger than a L. A standard plastic water bottle is a bit too long for the pockets of mine, but I found a perfectly sized bottle on amazon at this link:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ETSSDW0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1It is a little bit of a task to get on the dog because of all the buckles, and I wish there was a front D ring, but overall, this pack is wonderful quality for the price.

My dog had no problem wearing it. It has lots of straps and clips and should therefore be stable if you get the right size, just make sure your pockets are equally weighted. The large pockets accommodate two regular water bottles in each pocket comfortably.We've been on dozens of hikes with this pack without issue, despite it being a size too large for my 50lb shepherd mix (bought a large). While traipsing through the woods on our last hike, Penny must've gotten a pocket caught on something because it started to rip right off and I attached it to my pack for the rest of the hike. I was actually going to leave it on her but once the seam ripped about an inch, it just came undone from there. It was a size too big for her anyhow, so I'm going to buy a medium and see how it goes.

I needed a comfortable and light weight pack for my service dog. This pack is easy to put on him and take off. It doesn't flop around and he can curl up with it on. Even with uneven weight distribution the pack doesn't shift much. It also rides more on his shoulder so as not to put weight on his back. I bought the large for my 80 lb dog. There's plenty of strap to adjust bigger or smaller. I sewed on patches and the material was easy to work with. The handle worked well for his helping me up and down and for my carrying the pack. I have looked for one for a while. I am very pleased with this dog backpack.

My dog is not a fan of this back pack. I, on the other hand, love it! I like that she can carry her own water and first aid kit while we hike and I thought this would give her a “working purpose” when on the trails. The pockets are a good size and can hold more than the dog can carry (My dog is a 105lb Great Pyrenees). If the weight is not exactly even, the pack will tilt significantly. I tried to get my dog comfortable with the backpack by having her wear it empty on walks, but she still doesn’t enjoy having it on, so I am assuming it is not comfortable. I like the yellow color so she can be spotted easily and not mistaken for a horse or polar bear. Since I love it and my dog doesn’t, we compromised on a 3 star rating.

We got the Large size for our 85-95lb German Shepherd. Each side comfortably fit 2 water bottles, a collapsible bowl, poop bags, and my phone. As long as the weight was balanced it stayed hanging evenly and he seemed very comfortable for an hour long walk. It did not interfere with him going potty at all and was very simple to out on and adjust to his size. May want a bit sturdier one if you’re a constant adventurer or if you’re going to be rough on the pack but it’s perfect for everyday hikes and walks and fits German shepherds well! I was impressed with the quality and fit for the price!

Very adjustable, the medium appears quite comfortable for Maggie the 60 pound lab and stores a liter on each side. Our lab insists on swimming in every pond, stream, trickle or mud puddle she sees so she can only carry things in waterproof containers. She sometimes squeezes through or brushes against rocks, trees and other impediments. The result of hard plastic inside against abrasive surfaces outside for eight miles or so every weekend is that it will need to be replaced in about a year's time. Your mileage will vary.

Great dog pack for the price! We aren't big hikers, so I can't vouch for the durability long term. We bough this for long walks so my dog can carry his own poop home (ha!) and water. Size large fits my 60lb standard poodle great! He loves it! I would think for serious hiking you'd want something with some more padding to prevent rubbing.
