Tarot Médiéval: The Mysteries of the Initiate's Path (Deck and Guidebook Box Set)

The Loring deck is one of the rarest Tarot decks in history, with the very few known copies usually listing for over $20,000. It was a good idea to re-create this deck for the less affluent masses, but for my taste, the appeal of the original art was completely lost by the "artistic restoration" that was attempted here. I would have liked to see a true facsimile... all the flaws, the dark jewel colors, the handwritten labels, but this deck (which I've been waiting for, for many years), was instantly forgettable the moment I took it out of the box. Poor production too, by the way... Red Feather cuts corners (literally) and the cards are neither packaged nor protected well. The flimsy cardboard structure inside the box that is supposed to hold the cards, was completely smashed even in a brand-new copy. Manufacturing flaw, I suppose... but this deck, overall, was a big disappointment, mostly because not enough effort was made to create a facsimile that was true to the original. It went straight to the least-accessed depths of my very large collection, and I doubt I will look at it anytime soon.
