Sleep Lady Tips
We heard about this product from The Sleep Lady, who wrote the guide portion of the app. She is by far my favorite baby sleep expert (and I've read them all, since my baby wouldn't sleep!) Her tips helped a bunch! If you have a challenging sleep situation, you'll appreciate the cry detection on this monitor. Some nights it feels like the baby is crying for almost an hour, but in reality it's been 2 minutes. This monitor and app helps you get a better idea of how long it's taking for your baby to fall asleep and reassures you that it's okay if they fuss for a few minutes before falling asleep. It also helps you determine how to respond during night wakings. When pulled out of sleep, in your groggy state, you can check the app and see how long the baby has been fussing for (usually about 20 seconds) and observe them to see if they are putting themselves back to sleep or truly requiring you attention. Much better than going into the baby's room while they are putting themselves back to sleep and waking them up fully!I also like that the wifi does not transmit continuously unless you are actively watching the feed. This is better for those of us concerned about EMFs.There are a few things I would change. For one, the blue indicator light. Why does everyone insist on putting blue or green LEDs on their nursery products? Red light disrupts sleep less. Fortunately electrical tape fixes that. I also have had trouble getting the lullaby to work at times. All in all, set up was easy and the monitor has been handy. It's neat to see how my little one is learning to self-soothe.

Check the Evoz app ratings in the app store!
Go to your app store and check the reviews on the Evoz app before you buy this camera! This camera could easily be great, because everything about the camera itself is awesome, but you have to download the app onto your phone to make it work, and the app is pure garbage, and has not had an update for quite some time regardless of that fact. The app will randomly shut off your feed, but continues to show a picture of what the camera was seeing before it cut out, so you have to put a digital clock next to your baby to make sure the feed is still going. Sometimes the app freezes on start up and will not work no matter what you do. You have to reinstall the whole app to get it to even open. Ultimately, this thing would be great if the app worked, but with this Evoz app, you will constantly have to check in on your baby, which defeats the entire purpose of this expensive paper weight. I have a Samsung galaxy s8, and my wife has a new iPhone, and this app would not work well for either of us. If they ever update the app to fix these problems, I may a totally buy this again, but for now I have returned it because it is useless.

No customer service. Foggy camera lens after 2 months
Update 7/14/2020Have another newborn now and powered this thing up again and it’s constantly rebooting. A $40 wifi camera is a better solution than this. In fact that’s what I use now. Don’t get scammed by overpriced junk.Update 8/31/18Decided to take it apart to see if it was film (it wasn’t) and clean the inside of the lens since customer service is non existent. About a dozen small 00 and 000 screws later I see what might of caused the white haze behind the lens. Looks like a white substance behind the IR LEDs. Is the white haze from the lens smoke? Not sure what is is, but makes me question if it’s still safe to put this over my daughters crib? Will it overheat? Very disappointed for being one of the most expensive (if not the most expensive) baby cameras on Amazon.Update 8/27/18 New picture added with lens close up since the firmware update required a reset. It’s gotten even foggier than beforeGot this camera because of the reviews and unique mounting. Was initially pretty happy with it, had an issue with the music being low in volume and contacted customer service. They got back to pretty quick and said one of the songs was very low in volume you can’t even hear it (first one). Second song was fine.Fast forward 4-6 weeks later the camera has developed an internal fogging on the lens. We live in Southern California (low humidity) and room is always AC’d when it goes above 80 outside. Tried 4x on 2 separate email address asking for next steps or if there was an extremely thin/clear film on the lens I would need to pick at. Zero response on the generic email address through the app, and from the the actual email address of the person from before. The app itself is ok, cry alert is cool when you’re outdoors. Since you have to manually enter things like diaper changes, I can do it on excel type app instead. Not worth the premium price for a 720P camera with now zero customer service.

Tech forward baby monitor - we love it!!!
When I was pregnant, we both agreed that we should only need an audio monitor, considering our house isn't huge - there's only about 8 feet or so of space between our room and our daughter's room. We didn't think we'd need to be able to physically see her, when we could just walk into her room to check-in whenever necessary.Fast forward 6 months into parenthood - and we are now singing a different tune. There have been so many times when she's napping, and we've been outside grilling, or in the middle of a show or movie, that Trav has said 'Okay, maybe we should have invested in a video monitor.'Well, I finally ran across Evoz, and being the huge tech fan that I am; It peaked my interest. After reading up on their stats, and finding out they work directly with the Sleep Lady, I was sold. We received it the same day, and it took no more than 10 minutes to set-up.We have been having so much fun with it. The best part for me is the convenience of being able to handle everything directly from my phone. The quality of the video streaming is HD, as well. Just take a look at this clip I grabbed the other night.I could go on and on. The features are smart, logical, and impressive. It even collects data on the stats of your babes diaper changes, temperature of the room, etc...That being said; this is a great option if you're in the market for a smart baby monitor. You can even use it as your kids grow, keeping an eye on them in their room when they play, and taking it with you if needed. (yes, it's so easy that I would even consider it transit friendly.)
