Great book loved it readed in one day. But it was not what I was looking forWould read more from this author.

This is part of our preK homeschool curriculum. My 3 and 5 year old and I are learning lots! The kids are totally enchanted with the stories. I love how the author includes a discussion of each story to give historical and cultural context. The stories lend themselves well to all manner of retelling (puppets, plays, etc)

So happy I was able to find a copy of this. The tales are fun and the illustrations are beautiful. Unlike any other book of folk tales we have. I purchased a used copy, and it came in even better condition than I expected.

This book! I was uncertain wether to get it or not. I prefer buying preloved books but amazon was cheaper. My girls loved it and can recount the stories all the time. We bought it for homeschool but will reread it often I’m sure.

Was excited to have my niece have this book for her birthday, however, when we received it there was a light brownish stain on the back jacket of the book. Unsure what it was (had no smell) and was not wet at the time but there were no obvious stains in the Amazon box (package) either. We returned it and this made me sad as I have had this book highly recommend by some great librarians due to it's cultural context.

My 5 year old loved the stories. The illustrations are beautiful. Wish I was better at pronouncing the names though.

I think the book should have been published in Spanish with English translations combined. My kids are really enjoying this one, but I feel something is lost without being able to read in Spanish as well. I know there is a Spanish version, but it would have been better to combine as it would provide bilingual kids with a source for comparison.
