I was perplexed as to should I purchase the hardcover or the paperback. Glad I went with this one. I completed this book in like a day or two. Amazing read, I cried, smiled, just had the best time reading this book.

Review
The short story first published around 1935 speak about the relation of a Japanese middle-aged man and a geisha in the snow country, far away from Tokyo where the man is living with his family. It's a tale about longing, love and Japanese tradition. It will enhance the reading experience when you know a bit about Japanese culture. The story is rather slow but I really loved the beautiful storytelling. Besides the complicated feelings between Komako and Shimamura, I appreciate the wonderful language the author is using to describe the atmosphere.Furthermore, this small clothbound edition is a delight! The book cover and the haptic definitely doubles the joy in reading this book.
