While this condiment is pricey, the quality is worth it. I've been hooked for two years on Blank Slate's sauces. I've tried others, hoping to save money, but I keep returning to buy this condiment.I am surprised to see the negative reviews. I do want to point out that they focused on the Sichuan region, which is known for lingering mala, which is, frankly, addictive. I eat a lot of veggies, and sometimes, I just get bored, so I add mala or use it as a marinade for my broccoli. I can't stop eating my veggies.

Purchased this because I love making chili oil but don’t have the time and I was watching a recipe video that mentioned that she loved adding sesame seeds and Szechuan peppercorns to her chili crisp and chili oil and I was excited to try this because it has both.I shook the canister and as it says “use liberally” I doused my spring rolls in this and immediately spat it right back out.This literally has a bitter almost acid like taste. And the numbing is there but that’s it. There’s heat but I barley noticed it over the acidic almost disgusting taste and numbness. Do not recommend this at all.

The lids need to be tightened before shipping! I have received two orders so far: one from the original manufacturer and one from Amazon! Both orders had loose lids that leaked product out of their jars!! One jar of sichuwan chili oil had been in its box and had been resting on its side (as the box intended) for about a month. When I had taken it out of the box, all of the contents had leaked out in the box and in my cupboard!! Daniel Mills

By far, my absolute favorite chili oil! The only one you ever need, it’s so good on everything!!!

Very little tingle, I bought this cause the reviews said to much sezchuan peppercorn and I have to say not enoughhhhhhh. Taste gets an A+ IMO but I want to feel that peppercorn.
