Spider Surprise - Scare Box, Hilarious Practical Joke Money Box

I bought this for a Yankee swap at Christmas, and it resulted in a blood-curdling scream from the coworker who opened it! It is well constructed and looks nice sitting on her desk awaiting the next unsuspecting victim.

Ok this is AWESOME! I got this to prank people with, but I actually pranked myself. Even though I fully know it's a fake spider coming out, it scares the crap out of me every time I do it. The first time I opened it I literally screamed and threw the box (another plus - the box is pretty durable and survived the fall). Awesome prank/gag gift for anyone who is afraid of spiders.

Great little gag box. But will not last if it’s been dropped once or twice. Which, will definitely happen when the person holding and opening the box gets the unexpected surprise.

This product is pretty cute for the cost! We've had some great responses when they open the box. It was funny because even though my daughter saw something in the box when the spider jumped out, she still screamed. When they don't know what's coming, it's even funnier. Cute product!

Broke within 2 days

This is very cheaply made to the point that it doesn't open correctly so the 'surprise' is not really a surprise. Returned

I really hate to give this 5 stars - simply because I HATE spiders! My daughter gave this to me as a gift/prank. She got me! Now it’s my turn for payback :)As far as quality ~ it is a simple design but great quality. My daughter has been able to prank many people with it & it’s holding up great...the terrifying spider still springs out every time....(which is SO unfortunate for me & my fear!)

A Co-Worker got me with his spider box, so I immediately went to Amazon to order this.I got this one and it is comparatively cheaply made and doesn't work as well as the one my co-worker has. The wood is thin and light so it doesn't work resting on a table, the whole box slides forward instead of just the lid. Also when the lid is opened, when the person quickly retracts his hand, the lid just stays open with the spider out instead of quickly sliding back away. It is funnier when it quickly retracts after it startles someone. The lid doesn't smoothly slide. There are gaps in the box where the wood panels don't sit flush.Just an overall cheaply and poorly made version of the trick.I did not give it 1 star because it does function, meaning, when I open the lid, the spider does come out. But you have to hold the box in your hand as one handed operation on a table does not work. This is a bad design because more people will curiously slide a lid back on a box sitting on a table than someone actually picking up the box.EDIT - I bought some rubber feet to put on the bottom of the box to keep it from sliding on the table. It still doesn't work because the box is so light, it tips over instead of the door sliding open. You still have to brace it with another hand to open it.
