good way to review but time consuming and requires you to have time devoted to this

I'm a high school science teacher for 16 years. Over the years, I have used and evaluated many different test prep products (including the big name companies). I am always looking for the best resources for my students. This book is the best that I have previewed because it has great questions that are challenging but easy to understand if you are familiar with the concepts. Good selections of wrong answers (reasonable but incorrect) which really requires an understanding of AP chemistry. All topics for AP chemistry are covered. The explanations are complete and detailed so much learning occurs from reading the explanations. Several students that I suggested this book to have used it and several that did great on the ap exam. If you are a parent or a student, this is the book I recommend to study from to ace the AP chem exam. I suggest that this book can be used during the school year to learn and review concepts covered in an AP course.

As a physical science teacher I am always looking for extra rpactice material for my students. I ordered the AP Chemistry and AP Physics books from Sterling Prep. This AP chemistry book is great for content practice because it has many types of practice questions. It has valuable diagnostic tests and extensive questions separated into chapters that are the topics tested on the AP. I have recommended this book to several students as I know it will be great practice and give them an edge on the AP exam. The detailed explanations are great for them to learn and pracitce the concepts.

The book really saved me for the AP chem exam. I got the score I needed but I was not understanding much from my class. The problems in this book are great because the explanations allow me to practice concepts that I have had problems with. Topics are separated by topics which really helped me. I gained more confidence, was less frustrated and learned from using the book. My mother bought me this book and I know she made a great choice to get me ready for the AP. Now my worries are behind me and the book worked for me.

I bought this book for my daughter. I check outseveral other AP chemistry books and talked with her teacher and other parents for some suggestions. She is happy with this book. She used it often and seems to like the questions and explanations. It is nice to see her working through the questions to get ready for AP chem exam and not complaining about the "chore" or about frustation or confusion. She was upbeat and positive about her experience. She did well with the scores she needed on the AP chem exam and it was a great investment.

I just bought this book and see the difference from the version my friend used to also prepare for the AP chem exam. She recommended the book for the questions and separation into all topics covered on the AP exam. My version has solutions to most problems and I could follow along and learn from the explanations. Other friends used other books and we were better prepared than them. Great book to prep for the AP chem exam.

I have only looked at stoichiometry so far. What I found was several questions regarding oxidizing and reducing agents —terms that are no longer tested on AP exam. Questions that are so simple I could give them to physical science students. And repetitive, it is like they took 5 types of questions and recycled them. They had NO particulate level drawings of stoichiometry concepts—huge on exam. They had a mix of terms—referring to the “molecular” mass of a formula unit—not really possible. This book may be a nice test bank for general high school chemistry—but it will not help on the AP Exam.

As a high school science teacher, I know the challenges that students face when preparing for AP chemistry exam. The topics covered and the multitude of questions that range from basic to more advanced gives students the chance to practice different skills. This book has a good balance of quantitative problems and conceptual questions. Using this book helped my students prepare for the exam. I have recommended this book to many students who benefited from using it.
