Seiko Solar Chronograph Blue Dial Men's Watch SSC625P1

My husband has dozens of watches, most of which I've bought for him. He's extremely picky so I have to check the specs for certain, sometimes different, requirements in various brands. He hates to replace batteries, so an automatic watch has always been an easy place to start. Until I came across this particular Seiko solar watch. I had looked at solar watches before and was never that impressed, but he has enough automatic watches to open a small store. So, I did a search, using Amazon's filter, and came across this watch. I loved the style and look, especially the blue dial with black leather band. My husband usually prefers a stainless steel bracelet with a fold over safety lock clasp, but really likes the leather band on the Victorinox Swiss Army watch (purchased on Amazon), do I decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did. It's a good size watch at 45mm, a few millimeters smaller than all of the Invictas (also mostly purchased on Amazon), but he's 6'2" with long arms and a large dial works for him. Speaking of the dial, it's a beautiful blue that changes color slightly depending on the light and the chronograph finishes the look. The leather band is a little stiff at first, the way it's supposed to be, and becomes more pliable after wearing. The date is hard to see, which seems to be the norm these days, but is almost irrelevant with a cell phone just a glance away. So, to finally cut to the chase, this has quickly become my husband's favorite watch. He wears it almost every day, leaving the others behind in their cases. Very happy with this watch and highly recommend.

The tachymeter in person looks to be more of a medium gray color than black, like in the pictures. The font on the tachymeter is an off white color, so the two colors compliment each other very well. The most interesting thing about the watch is the color of the dial. In person it is a light blue sunbrust dial and the sub dials are a very dark blue. The look of the dial is amazing, Seiko did a very good job. The sub dials are at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions and represent the seconds hand, 60 min counter, and 24 hour counter. The watch band is black leather and has gray stitching. I am not much of a leather band fan but it is really nice thick band, so no complaints there. All in all this is an awesome watch. If you are in the market for a tachymeter, chronograph, racing themed style of watch look no further.

There are many things to like about this watch from the large tachymeter, precise chronograph functions to the luxurious and thick leather bands. This is a Solar chronograph so no need to ever change out battery as long as you expose your watch to sunlight. The design harks back to the aviation days but with a nice modern touch. The stainless steel is very shiny and pairs with A brushed metal on both ends. The proprietary hardlex crystal is clear and the satin blue face changes color depending on the angle of the light source. All the chronograph functions are easy to use and if desired you can always park the second hand while the watch continues to run. The quality of the watch is top notch as expected with higher end Seikos. If you like a stylish and detailed craftsmanship then you got your self a Bulova Lunar watch counterpart that looks just as good if not better, more reliable and never needs a battery replacement.

This is a good looking watch and practical for every day use. Large without being ridiculous. Not too heavy. The solar charging and chronograph functions are great. Very comfortable to wear. The hands are a little thin and difficult to read in some lighting conditions, but I am getting used to it. Having a light would be great, but would probably use too much battery. Over all a great quality watch at a good price.

All around great piece for the price. Date is tough to read at a glance but to knock the watch for it isn’t right. I’ve seen much worse date windows for much more. At this price point it’s negligible.

Beautiful watch! Has a low charge indicator. Seconds hand will tick in 2 seconds intervals when it’s low. Split time for chronograph. Ability to adjust chronograph hand if it’s off. Expected life per full charge is 6 months. Any light source will charge the watch but sunlight works best.

The watch is not working as expected.

Terrific Seiko solar chronograph (meca-quartz).This same watch is available in few different color combinations, and with different straps.I stumbled on this one randomly, and I am super happy with my choice. 🙂😃Leather band is SUPERB QUALITY and will likely last a very long time.When I bought it, this particular listing was also better priced then other color designs found elsewhere. In natura wirkt die Uhr noch ein wenig eleganter als auf dem Foto. Die Verarbeitung ist (Seiko-Typisch) sehr gut und über jeden Zweifel erhaben, ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!!!
