Here is a VERY HONEST review with pictures of the results comparing my tap water to CVS brand bottled water !!
This water test is super easy to use and extremely fast with the results. The bacteria indicator understandably took 48 hours but all the others were less than 2 minutes. I have a bit of background with water quality that is not very extensive but basic. After reading the other reviews I was surprised at how some were demanding more detailed and descriptive results. I thought to myself they must have no idea how expensive that is and the time it takes. Many do not know that it would take several several test and yes each one of them very expensive to get narrowed down results. This product for the price is a great way to get the peace of mind that your water is safe or even satisfy a suspicion you might have about your water. For the price it is the best way and easiest way to get started and probably end with no more investigation needed as happened with me ! As a matter of fact, I will describe in this review how I was able to resolve what I considered a bad water problem. Here is why I wanted to get my water tested ! A few months ago my fish tank was low and I needed to add water to it. I filled up a glass container and put the chlorine remover in it . Or so I thought ! I realized after it was too late I had put water clarifier in it. Now what that does is take suspended particles or easier to understand is the yuck swirling around in the fish tank water and clump them up so they are big enough for the tank filter to remove them. Thus a clearer looking water and no more clouds in your fish tank. So I said no big deal I will add the chlorine remover and tmrw I will put in the tank. The next day when I got up and saw my tap water and turned into what looked like swamp water, I was grossed out. It looked like mud had settled to the bottom. For this review I repeated the above said and did not add chlorine remover to it so you can see how my crystal clear tap water turned into brown yuck !So yes I started drinking bottled water. There was a sale one day at CVS on their bottled water and I was very much impressed at how well it tasted! It is just their generic brand but to me it taste better than any of the other brands I have tried ! So I decided to compare my tap water against their water. The test comes with one bacteria tester so I only tested my tap water with that.So looking at the pictures the color purple after 48 hours means no bacteria water in my tap water ! :)Here forward in every test, the strip on the LEFT is my TAP WATER. The strip on the right is CVS BRAND BOTTLED WATER.Now on the heavy metals test the strips are actually showing orange hues ( hard to see that with photo) and the chart starts off with brown hues so neither one registered any heavy metals. :)On the next test you can see my tap water ph was higher than CVS water but that is probably due to the fact I also am showing more chlorine in my tap water than the CVS water. AND the reason the CVS Water has less chlorine is after time and especially once exposed to the sun chlorine begins to dissipate (or disappear). The one big thing here is you can see my tap water is much harder than the CVS brand !Then the last test was showing on both waters no trace of nitrates or nitrites thank goodness and I live in a farm area so that was very surprising. So both waters fully passed the test ! A+++ ! The CVS water probably taste better because it is softer and has less chlorine and a bit less alkaline than my tap water. That equates into a water that is very bitter free and less chemical tasting !So the big two things I learned is no my washing machine is not broke ! With my water being that hard it is making it difficult if not impossible for the detergent to work. I checked on line and Amazon sells a water softener(called Calgon) for less than $10 for your washing machine and Walmart carries it as well ! It will off set the hard water so my clothes can clean properly without having to rewash ect.The second thing I learned is my tap water is safe ! It has got some mud in it but good mud ! LOL - That explains the hardness as well as the alkalinity . For the most part all tap water is going to have some but is nice knowing it's good mud and not something serious! You may argue well you could do this and that to check more etc... but really for all probable reasons this is more than adequate! The best part is I am done ! I may retest in a year and if I do I will use this brand ! It was very fast and very inexpensive and showed me I had no reason to spend big money or time looking for something harmful in my water ! I loved it ! I plan on telling all my friends about it ! This is so simple to use and fun and it just may surprise you what you learn about your water ! I hope you may have found this helpful ! Waste of time
Well that was useless. We spoiled the lead kit on first attempt because we had no idea what the heck a pipette was. $89 for a single stick. Now we still don't know if our water has lead. What a waste.

Peace of mind
Our home is in the country, therefore we have a well for our water. The water has amazing flavor, no off smells, etc., so I hadn't thought of a repeat water test (originally done 20 years ago when we purchased) until a friend mentioned that it should be done annually.Being surrounded by cropland and having our own farm animals, I realized she was right. I Googled water testing and was lead to research home test kits. I liked the simplicity of the test kit offered by Health Metric, along with the wide variety of tests included. The tests were very easy to perform and I'm glad to report that they are all normal, or as expected. Our water is hard, which is the only "off" result we got, but we knew that anyway. I'm grateful for the peace of mind that having these tests done has given me and will do repeats every couple of years now, knowing that the health of our water is vitally linked to our own health.

May have to use promptly
I purchased two of these kits in December 2022 after getting some hazy well water after an unusually heavy rain. I figured I'd be ready to retest after treating the water, if it failed. The kit worked great. Instructions were clear and I felt like a junior chemist. I can only assume the results were accurate. Unfortunately the expiration date, which is only visible once you open the box, was 12/2022. Figuring the second kit had the same expiration, I gave it to a friend.
