Few false closings and kept some very unhappy squirrels secure till I got home.

We've successfully trapped and relocated 2 squirrels with this now. I'm a big wildlife lover and spend hundreds on the birds (every few weeks!) I love everything and wouldn't hurt anything but the squirrel we once had that visited four years ago that was very cute and entertaining has turned into a whole different thing. These new babies have been ripping up the garden getting into the roof getting into the pots in the spring. I wouldnt mind if they just ate the food but they bury it! And then try to find it in the wromg place! Even though they irritate me, the stress I feel when they cross the main road here., its unbareable. We even had to get one off the road that had been knocked over last year. I don't want it. I just couldn't stand it any longer so I invested in one of these.*** To catch squirrels ***You need to buy the ***shelled monkey nuts***not regular ones although they like them but monkey nuts are irrestible to them.I think it's illegal in the UK to relocate squirrels but but if you're careful and do it where there's no one watching its better than killing them which I wouldn't do. I do not want to do that and buying one of these is an investment where you don't need to get rentokil out.Also - make sure once you set the trap up you DO NOT leave it for long periods unattended. Keep checking over and over because not only are they very stressed once inside but anything could potentially get inside one of these traps like song birds. So just handle this RESPONSIBLY please.

The trap differs a lot from the one shown in the setup video. The gauge of the metal is a lot thinner and the trap does not feel very robust when assembled. The reinforcement bar does not have a bottom bar to it and just hangs at the side of the cage. Assembly is quite easy, if you watch the video, the paper instructions not so easy. It is very easy to set the trap.It will be interesting to see how effective it is as there is not a lot of room behind the pressure plate so an animal could easily lean over it and eat the bait. They would not have to walk over the plate to reach it. As there is no solid plate to put the bait on (apart from the pressure plate) if you want to use anything like peanut butter you will have to pop it in a shallow dish.

Trap was set up with bait placed at the far end from the entrance. Twice a cat has managed to take the bait out from the cage without setting it off. Totally useless, don’t bother with it.

Managed to catch a few rabbits so far, easy to set up and use, took a while before I caught anything but now it’s in situ I think the rabbits are a bit more comfortable with it being around, try not to get your human smell on the cage (use gloves).

Found this product very good easy to assemble whith instructions provided Bigger than I exspected which is a good plus. Have baited up and set fingers crossed catch pesky little squirrells.

Haven't caught anything yet. Will let you know if I do or, do not.
