I tried the product out on some panes of glass, and it works great. If that's what you want it for, I think you'll be fine. Any smooth, FLAT surface will probably work.I bought this product based on its advertised use as a dent puller for my car, though. There were several dented areas. The suction cup was too wide for the smaller dents - understandable. I had a wider, shallower dent that seemed appropriate; the suction cup looked just right in the center of it. It was difficult to get the cup to stick to the door. I got it to hold several times, and was able to partially pull out that one dent. If the suction had held, I could've pulled it the rest of the way, but it always came unstuck before I reached the amount of force needed to finish fixing the dent. The suction just didn't hold well enough.Even the "shallow, appropriate" dent - like most of what you're going to use this for on a car - was not completely flat. It was relatively flat. I guess there was enough curvature to defeat the suction cup once I reached a certain amount of pulling force. I think this product will work for certain auto dents, but probably not most of them. I partially fixed one dent, and the rest of them are still there.Again, if you're using this for glass - or some other smooth, flat surface - disregard the rest of this review; you're good to go. If the advertisement had been a little clearer on that score - instead of emphasizing the dent pulling aspect - I would've given this five stars.

A hit and run in a parking lot left me with a bent fender that stopped my passenger door from opening. The body shop wanted $300 just to "realign" the door to get it to open so I figured this was worth a shot. The tool arrived quickly and was exactly what I expected. In about 10 minutes I was able to realign the fender enough to get the door functioning again. The biggest challenge with this is suction tool that the surface has to be smooth and flat and at least 5" around in order for the suction to work, which on a modern car is hard to find given all of their lines and curves. So, the suction cup was a little too big for me to deal with much of the damage. Also, clean the surface well before you try to use it--- it doesn't work well on dusty/dirty surfaces. While this is not a magic suction cup, for $17 I was able to get the door working again, so I'd call this product a success.

I’m appreciative of the product because I did the work with my 7 year old. I wanted to show him how to easily remove the dent. He used it under my supervision and was very happy because he felt successful. The ease of use is the best part. I will say that It worked for only part of the job, but could not get the dent out just below the contour of the door. Overall, pretty much what I expected.

I bought this item to pull a dent, actually more of a bent panel. It seems to work well , allowing a strong pull before releasing. Very rugged and easy to use. Unfortunately it did not work well enough to pull the panel back into place. I don't think the problem was entirely due to this puller as it seems to work well. I think that I just need something bigger. The one thing I think could be improved is that it has letters molded (actually they stand out, not in) on the sealing surface that prevents it from making intimate contact with the area to be pulled. Not sure if this would have allowed it to pull strong enough to pull my panel back, but it certainly couldn't hurt to get that little bit extra performance.

The device helped make some of the dents less noticeable but didn't do miracles. I don't regret trying it, though. In fact I followed up by ordering a smaller version to try and work on some of the dents I couldn't get with the larger one. The areas have to be completely flat for the suction to work, so I'm thinking a smaller suction cup may work better on some of the areas.

I got swiped on my passenger side door by a text messenger on my way to work. I had 2 ugly dents, a crease, and scuff marks all along the passenger side. This device enabled me to pull the 2 dents out myself in around 5 minutes. It did not work on the badly creased surface but it's not designed to. Once you use sufficient pressure to get the suction cup to make clean contact on the surface, flip the lever and she locks right in. I wasn't strong enough to pull one of the dents. I inserted a pry bar and pulled it right out. Great tool to have and its well made and will last years. Great seller...instant ship...had it on my doorstep in 2 days.

I had a few dents in my truck, this product worked pretty well on the bigger dent which had a big enough flat area in the middle of it so that the product could suction well. The product didn’t work on the smaller dents because they were toward the top of my truck bed and the surface wasn’t completely flat to where the product would seal.

I bought this item to help me fix a car dent on my vehicles front passenger door and was able to bring out some of the dent, however, I was not able to take the whole dent out because it was in pretty deep and close to the edge of the door. I also used boiling water prior to using the suction cup. I hope my description helped but I understand that pictures are usually better. All in all I think this product would help much more for dents that are not too deep into the vehicle and for smaller dents. Mine was about a foot radius.
