Usually I spend ages in person deciding between various mineral or crystal specimens. (Don’t even ask about all the time I spent at the Tucson Gem Shows years ago - best shopping trip ever!). But sometimes I like the mysterious thrill of a blind buy. This one did not disappoint.At this very reasonable price point I expected a far less nice smoky quartz. Yes, it is not crystal clear. I absolutely do not expect gem quality at this price. But I did get better than I expected: a piece with all sorts of interesting inclusions. I love the swirls and variegation.It is unchipped. It is cut well. It stands evenly (even if I don’t manage to photograph it that way). The size is exactly as represented.Photographs were taken in natural sunlight. The close up with light from the setting sun (hence the color difference).If you need a gift for yourself or someone else, this is an excellent choice.

This went well above and beyond my expectations. Ordering citrine off of the Internet is always a gamble. You never know if you're going actually receive citrine or heat treated amethyst. This tower is a gorgeous piece of natural citrine and it felt sooo good holding it in my hands. It fits perfectly in my little crystal cabinet too. In a taller portion where everything else looked silly. This is absolutely one of my favorite crystal pieces right now. It's such a beautiful light lemony buttery yellow. There are some little fractures within which I always like because they give off the prettiest little rainbow prisms. It's cut wonderfully and polished to a nice smooth finish.
