I ordered this journal/notebook for my Dad for Christmas, (ordering and shipping & receiving all went very smoothly, btw). However, the color of the journal as shown on the site is not the same color as the actual notebook at all. Obviously I expected some difference in color, but the one I received is like a brick red, tan/ orangey color and I do not like it at all! The book on the site looks like more of a dark brown. Also, I didn't get out my trusty 'ol tape measure and see exactly what to expect size-wise, and I made an a$$ out of you and me...(well, really just ME!), by assuming it would be somewhat larger. Width is fine, I was just hoping for it to be somewhat taller.Other than my superficial "complaints", the journal book is actually quite nice and appears well made! It has a very easy open & close leather string to wrap around the book about twice, the paper is made from recycled materials & you can kinda tell by the feel and "rough" appearance...which I love btw. There are 5 separate little "sections" of paper tied together inside along the spine, and it seems there's plenty of paper for jotting notes, poems, lyrics, quotes, whatever the heart desires! And in case I hadn't mentioned already- it looks and feels VERY well made/ sturdy, and I doubt these pages will come out easily at all...which is PERFECT for my Dad. I actually think he'll really like it, I hope anyway! All it needs now is a really nice, fine tip/ ball point pen, (oh, and the paper appears thick enough so that a good fountain pen wouldn't bleed through to the other side of the pages), and he'll be all set!Overall: Great buy, especially for the price! Would definitely buy again, hopefully they offer other colors/stains. Perfect gift for the writer in your group.

On the contrary to other reviewers, I am giving my journal 5 stars! I JUST opened the box 10 minutes ago and I was so pleased I have to write a review, right now! I bought this in hopes of getting one of the decent ones that were reviewed about. 7 bucks is worth rolling the dice. (Besides, amazon does returns anyway!) (Note: never be afraid to buy anything on here! You can return it the next day and get your money back right in your acct that day.) Anyway, Well I sure won this one! As you can see from the pictures, it is absolutely stunning! AND for 7 bucks!?! Thats the REAL kicker! The only bad thing i can say (which isnt even that bad) is the the first page is marked up from the leather rubbing against it. (No big deal!!!) Im sorry to the other people that got a bad product. I am proof that there are good ones in the mix! Oh, and I added a charm to the wrap to give it some flare & to give you an idea of what sort of things you can do with it/add to it. (Charm is NOT included)

I've very pleased with the aesthetics and look of this journal, but the size is a bit small and there could be more pages. A lot of this comes down to not checking a measuring tape or ruler before purchasing. With the smaller size of the book, the number of pages ends up feeling small pretty quickly. I ended up deciding to use this as a bread journal when I bake and purchased a different journal for my regular writing.I tend to write in my journals with fountain and dip pens, and the paper is very thick; it soaks up ink without it bleeding through to the opposite side. The thick pages add to the feel of this book and it's fantastic.

I bought this handmade leather-bound journal for my husband to record his homebrew recipes. It is a very nice journal, especially for the price. The exterior of the journal is plain (no embossments or embellishments other than the leather stitching). It has a reddish brown hue on the outside and the inside is the raw interior-side of the hide. The edges of the leather are stitched with leather and there is also a leather string which can be wrapped around the journal to keep it closed when not in use.The overall dimensions of the journal are 7.125” tall x 5” wide x 1.625” thick. The pages on the inside are 6.75” x 4.875”.The pages also appear to be handmade and physically bound to the leather cover by hand stiches made using more leather string. The paper is thick and its color is off white (not too much of a cream color, but definitely not bright white. The pages are blank (no lines) however there are some marks (stains) on the pages where the pages were tied to the leather binding (6 places), but nothing to the extreme of making those pages unusable. Actually, I believe it is to be expected when using natural products and being handmade.I definitely would recommend this journal to anyone. I bought this leather journal at full listing price and the above review is my honest opinion based off of my own experience with the product.

This book is amazing! I have filled it up and bought a second one! Here's some things you should know before buying!1.This book has close to 220 pages (front and back)!2.It seems small but it is a perfect size for EVERYTHING3. When it comes it has a VERY strong smell! If you put it back in the box (Opened) and leave it out to dry in a ventilated area for a few hours you should be good to go!4. Fountain Pens work great on the paper!! Mechanical pencils not so well (as the have a sharp point) Nothing really bleeds through!5.THE PAPER IS BEAUTIFUL!! The paper has yellow flower petals, grass, etc. Recyclable (as all paper is)6. The leather is strong and seems real and only gets better w/ age.Pros:The colour of the notebook is amazingThe number of pagesThe quality!!!! 10/10The pages and how durable and pretty they areEVERYTHING!!!Cons: The smell! Luckily it wears off!Overall: If you are looking for a memento, poetry,song,bullet journal GET THIS!! It is so amazing and literally EVERY birthday & Christmas I get one!
