Fascinations Metal Earth Hong Kong Star Ferry 3D Metal Model Kit

My husband is an engineer and loves these! Think he has put together over 20 of them. I personally can not fathom how he gets the tiny pieces together but he is the master at them. Also, Disneyland now has them! Find all the star-wars ones there and Stitch. If you need a gift for someone who loves to do models or loves engineering, get these! The Hong Kong ferry looks JUST like the real thing which I got to go on this year.

Was looking for a plastic model of the Hong Kong ferry. This will do for now.

Best left to a professional jeweler with tools and mindset geared to small intricate bending and forming skills. I've built about 6 other Metal Earth projects, loved them all, but nothing as small or complicated as this. The very first thing using directions is bending a flat piece into a square approx 1/16" square and attaching it to another flat piece bent/formed into a square maybe 3/16th"....pilot houses. Now try bending/forming 8 flat pieces into approx 1/8" diameter circles with a outside ring (think tire boat/fenders) with a hole in the middle and attach said pieces onto side of model. Just tossed it in the trash with three days and maybe 6 hrs, little to no joy here.

Dieses Modell sieht der echten Fähre (Northern Star) absolut ähnlich, besonders die Farben. Einige Details sind jedoch sehr sehr filigran - man wünschte sich hier ein etwas dickeres Blech (Masten vorne u. hinten) - daher Vorsicht beim Zusammenbau!Bei runden Teilen lohnt sich eine Rundzange zu haben, da es sonst unnötig schwer in die Zielform zu bringen ist.Ansonsten habe ich für ein paar Stunden beim Zusammenbau sehr großen Spaß gehabt und erfreue mich jeden Tag erneut daran.
