Everything for You (Bergman Brothers Book 5)

Everything I wanted, and so much more.
REVIEW⚠️cw: Anxiety, chronic pain, homophobia, neglect ⚠️When veteran soccer player Gavin Hayes is forced to share his captaincy with rising star Oliver Bergman, he finds it harder and harder to hide his attraction to his annoyingly upbeat team-mate. Oliver idolised Gavin growing up. They say never meet your heroes. Pity he's still wildly attracted to the grump. Let's get the wee elephant out of the room. The team is basically a Ted Lasso version of a football team, and Gavin is Roy Kent, but let me tell you, I am here for Every. Single. Second. of that, thank you very much! There's no toxic masculinity allowed on this team. Yay! It was lovely to see more of what makes Oliver tick, and he was SO sweet, caring, and vulnerable underneath all of the pranks. His anxiety was well-written, and he broke my heart at times. That said, the trademark silliness was still amusing. For me, though, Gavin was the real star of this book. His battle with chronic pain and his dawning retirement highlighted the (often unhealthy) pressure elite athletes put on themselves on a daily basis. Some fans would do well to remember this when they're so quick to criticise a performance. I adored Gavin's development through the book. From grumpy thundercloud to an adorable softie (with a side of mild disgruntlement, especially about Oliver's clothes), and he broke me with his childhood. The chemistry between Oliver and Gavin was palpable, and they were so stinking adorable together. The intimacy was so hot but also incredibly beautiful. There are, of course, more cute Bergman family moments: a truly wonderful talk between Willa and Oliver; another summit 😉; but mostly from a new addition. Linnie was hilarious, and I absolutely ADORED her with Gavin. And there's a cute moment with a past character (no spoilers!)This was everything I wanted, and so much more.Overall Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥Emotional Rating: 😢💓🙈💓😂🙈🥰😉😂🙈💓😍😢😂🥰😍🤬💔😢💓😢😂💓🥰💔💓👏🏻🥰

Another brilliant read
The tension Chloe weaves throughout the stories is sublime. I loved the sporting aspect that Chloe Liese included in this. As a big fan of football (sorry, I can’t call it soccer, I draw the line at that) I thought the sport was really integral to understanding the dynamic between Oliver and Gavin. As the relationship progresses between the two the football scenes feature less which I missed.I really loved grumpy Gavin and how he contrasted Oliver’s sunshine so perfectly. I loved the honesty in Gavin, his thoughts and feelings of jealousy and resentment weren’t always kind but they were honest but for a man at the point he was in his career being faced with Oliver in his position, was really honest. As always with this series the characters were phenomenal and so easy to relate to and understand. Chloe’s representation of anxiety within Oliver’s character was so well written and I think will be really relatable for a lot of people.Chloe really is killing it with this series, I can’t help but fall in love with these characters immediately. I loved the inclusion of the rest of the Bergman clan and the snippets we saw in to the relationships we’ve already fallen in love with, without taking away from Oliver’s journey

Loved this book!
This book was so good. I loved it! I loved all the tropes and the characters and getting to see the rest of the Bergman siblings and know what they’re up was an amazing little extra.Gavin and Oliver were amazing characters and felt incredibly human and real. They were exceptionally well built, had good qualities and flaws like all of us and their journeys to happiness weren't always straightforward: they had set backs and had to work on themselves to improve whatever it was they felt needed to be better. The truth is, you’ll see little bits of yourself in these characters and who knows, maybe you’ll even understand yourself a bit better. The banter between the Oliver and Gavin was amazing and they had so much chemistry! I just loved seeing them together and following their journey to the Happily Ever After, which wasn’t always easy but was 100% worth it in the end. This book is everything! It made me smile (I hadn’t even finished the first page and already had a huge smile on my face) and laugh and squeal with joy, but because it also deals with some heavier topics (such as anxiety and chronic pain) it also made me stop to think and I’ll admit I shed a few tears here and there. This was a very anticipated read and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. If you haven’t read this series yet, you have no idea what you’re missing! Genuinely some of the best books out there right now. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Beautiful m/m romance
Chloe Liese does it again.. I loved this.I don't read many m/m romances but I need to. This story was beautiful in so many ways. I loved that Gavin and Oliver are on the same team. They are forced to be team co-captains so they have to work together. As well as being co-captains they are neighbours so they have to spend a lot of time together which Gavin hates as he wants Oliver.Oliver is so cute and adorable. I love him as a character. He deserves to be as loved as he is by Gavin. Gavin is the typical angry, surly jock at first. He is fighting his feelings so much and pushing Oliver away as he can't give in to temptation. I love this grumpy/sunshine relationship. Oliver brings out Gavin's fun and carefree side and the steamy scenes are STEAMY. Especially the shower scene...Props to the chronic pain representation. Gavin suffers from severe pain that makes him bed-bound on more than one occasion and he can't look after himself. Oliver is there to take care of him.

Gay footballers, what's not to love.
A beautiful, gay love story between a grumpy, injured l, football legend and a new, happy, sunshine, football player who idolized the other. This was so incredibly good, it constantly had me wanting more, every time I stopped reading. And each time it delivered. Chloe Liese has truly outdone herself with this one.

I adored this book!
Gavin Hayes and Oliver Bergman are reluctant teammates on the Galaxy soccer team. Gavin is at the end of his soccer career, having felt his chronic pain becoming more aggressive. Oliver is at the beginning of his soccer career and he is all sunshine and spirit, which is really a mask he wears to hide his anxiety. They put up with each other for the team, but now they are being offered Co-Captaincy. In order to make it work, and to not lose this title, they may have to let the other in to their heart just a little bit. This book has it all! Enemies-to-lovers, grumpy and sunshine, one bed, slow burn, caring for each other when in pain or anxious. Honestly, these two are just such adorable marshmallows that deserve all the love and hugs.Gavin and Oliver have undeniable chemistry, but their absolute care for each others pain, emotions, and fears, makes you route for them all the more. They listen, they help, they try to understand, even when they are upset or angry with the other. They are there for one another, because even if they "hate" each other, they love their team. On the pitch, their playing is so synchronized they are an unstoppable force of will and determination. All they need to do is channel that drive and confidence into their love lives. The Bergman family is all in attendance. Sticking their noses into Oliver's business, especially Viggo, and it makes for several hilarious, but also heartfelt, moments. The family is just so genuine, so loving, so endearing, that it is hard not to instantly like them and route for all of them top find their happiness. But, I also loved Gavin's support system in a group of old poker dudes. He does not open up often, but these elderly gentlemen have lived long enough not to put up with his grumpiness. They are able to needle information out of Gavin, with the hopes that they can at least ease some of his burdens.I loved his book, it was a fast paced read because the story progressed well. Oliver and Gavin's love felt real and the emotions in this book are so raw. The love they show each other, even when they feel at their worst, is so precious. Gavin cannot seem to move past this feeling that once he is no longer a soccer star he will be purposeless and unnecessary. Whereas, Oliver bears anxiety from the weight of perceived expectations, as well, he is avoiding love due to having been hurt in the past. It takes a lot for these two to be able to move past these complications, but when they do it is absolute fireworks!Highly recommend this book. It has its sad moments, tense moments, but it is also filled with love, devotion, and STEAM!

Top read of 2022. Swoonfest!
“He brings my hand to his chest. “I promise it all- my body, my soul, my life, for you, everything for you, to care for you and love you, if you’ll let me. You’re the f*in sunrise of my heart, love. All I need is to wake up beside you, to hold your hand and keep you steady when you need me, to watch you with pride and admiration, to give you hell for not being more selfish on the field and too generous off of it. I love you.””For the love of all that is good and swoony. This is one of the best books I’ve read in years. I do not say that lightly. “Everything For You” is absolutely touching and beautiful. So much heart. All the emotions.Grumpy/sunshine. We’ve got Ted Lasso and Roy Kent if they were both soccer players and next door neighbors. In a captivating romance. And. It. Is. Beautiful. As usual- author Chloe Liese offers a truly inclusive romance, with an extremely accurate portrayal of how it feels to live with anxiety (as this reviewer has experienced it to be). While I do not have personal experience with chronic pain- I can only fathom she has taken the utmost of care and that this too comes from a place of heart and sensitivity. It’s real and raw and handled openly and honestly. These heroes. Oliver and Gavin. Phew. They are… ::shakes head:: I don’t know if I can accurately share them. They are complex and sweet and one is hiding hurts while the other is hiding insecurities and they just want each other and there was so much delicious longing and heat and… love. There is just a lot of love even before they know to name it as such. They communicate, there’s communication, y’all! Even when it’s scary or hard or takes a little time.Viggo. Oh Viggo. He is a lovely side character with a lot of heart and man- I cannot wait for his happily ever after.“Stop it with the romance novels”, I beg….”Life is not a romance novel.”“One of my biggest beefs with life.”I mean- surely I am not alone in that we all cannot wait to read about another romance novel lovin’ hero! I loved the role the entire family plays in this one- we get to catch up with couples of the past and see hints of the final two Bergman siblings to come. It felt natural and right, not to much, and not to little.I truly loved this story. I’m in such a picky reader place and It was more than I ever hoped for and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. I cannot wait to get my hands on this paperback.C/w: panic attacks, chronic pain, homophobic slur (although it is un-named and handled immediately)

So verletzlich, so viel Tiefe, so sexy

Loved it !
This is my first gay romance, and I must say, it rocked ! I totally fell in love with Gavin and Oliver, and cheered them on from the on onset. And it's steamy enough to fog a mirror 💞
