Cat cannot defeat
I have the MOST food motivated cat who spends half his day trying to break into his food container & the other half of his day trying to break into the dogs. After chewing through multiple sealed bags of food & consistently harassing every human available to feed him, I decided my sanity required a timed feeder. No more early morning door slamming against the frame or pulling the cabinets open with his paw so he can slam them back (over & over & over). This magic machine has ended it all (or atleast lessened the antics by 90%). He canNOT get more than a kernel or two out when he tries (& this includes banging it against the wall, knocking it over, & inserting his paw as far up the hole as he can) so eventually he gives up & goes on with his day. I’ve propped it into a corner so he can’t tip it but occasionally he gets mad enough he gets it out of the corner & knocks it upside down. There’s tons of light scratch marks on it but he’s not damaged it. I’ve had it months now & it works great. He now gets mad at the feeder & not at me & has stopped harassing everyone & chasing them around the house. Listening to him try to manipulate a paw in is much quieter than the morning cabinet slams I used to wake up to. He usually starts beating it against the wall about 10-15 mins before it’s set to go off, he basically tells time now. It’s easy to program. Doesn’t take up much space. Took some trial & error to figure out the meal size but found meal size 6 to equal about 1/4 cup. I’ve started giving him 3 meals since it can feed him when I’m at work & that has helped cut down on the feline antics. If he can’t figure out how to rig the food to come out & feed him, no cat can😹😹 He regularly beats it against the wall before meal time waiting for it to drop food but it’s been indestructible. Reliable, easy-fill with large reservoir, excellent portion control
After purchasing a different automatic feeder that was a pain to refill every 2 days and allowed my cat to break into it, I was willing to pay a little more for a higher quality product. This was absolutely worth every penny! Our food-crazy cat was pestering me CONSTANTLY - incessant meowing anytime I moved into the kitchen where his bowl is. An online article recommended an automatic feeder (so that the owner isn't the "food source") and this has solved the attention-seeking behavior.PROS:* Generous food bin - lasts about 2 weeks before needing to refill (which is easy with the screw-off top)* Can program up to 4 meals/day - several smaller meals is preferred over one or two large meals.* Allows for small portions for precise diet control (check the back of your food for calorie content & measure accordingly to distribute throughout the day)* Reliable - it has not jammed up or missed a feeding yet* Battery-efficient. A cord comes with it, but we chose batteries due to location. Haven't needed to change them yet! UPDATE 8/3/2019: It's been over a year of 4 meals/day and this thing is STILL on the original batteries!)CONS:* None! Unless you count the kitty leaping halfway across the livingroom from the top of the cat tree when the kibble hits the bowl. :PUPDATE: 16 months later and this marvel is still going strong...on the ORIGINAL BATTERIES. Yes, really. 4 meals a day for nearly a year and a half and I haven't had a single problem with it. Buy this! You won't regret it.

It works, just as stated
Something is suspicious when there is the same product made by other sellers on amazon: joytool, petcul, iseebiz, etc. They must all use the same wholesalers. It’s basically a gumball machine with an electronic timer. As someone previously stated, there is no warning when food is run out and the top window is black so you cannot see how much is left. Otherwise, it works perfectly. Correct portions are given out ontime and it is easy to setup. It hasn’t broken down at all after a few weeks of usage and my cat has gotten the hang of it. I love how it plays my voice recording, fairly loud, and uses batteries so i dont have to worry about the cord being chewed. Customer service is also on point with the sellers who make sure everything is fine and working to my expectation

I have a love/hate relationship with this feeder but Dean loves it.
I bought this feeder to try and control portions for my overweight cat who mostly eats dry food. On the plus side, it is easy to fill and the food is safely enclosed away from a determined cat. It does dispense the food on time and the amount is always what I have set for it to give. The voice recorder is fairly low rent so you need to be very close to the device when recording, but if you do this the playback is not horrible. On the negative side, though, is it is very hard to set up and change the settings. I am trying to figure the right amount to feed my cat so that he eats what is dispensed and does not have a lot left over. We do 2 meals a day with the feeder. I started off with a setting of 8 which is entirely too much, but trying to lower the setting is a nightmare. To do so you need to press and hold the meal button then hold in the button for the amount until it activates then runs through the numbers to 39 and resets to 1. I have to do this for both meals. The buttons on the machine are very hard to keep depressed so I am constantly noticing that any action has stopped and I am never sure which button it is that has lost pressure. I have found this to work best with 2 people, one to hold the meal button and one to hold the amount button. It would be GREAT if those buttons were a better quality. Also, I would very much like the ability to simply go backward in the numbers. That would make things much more doable.

good value here
This thing is great. Been using it for about a month and it seems very reliable. I put the backup batteries in it, but we have not yet had power failure so I don't know if that part works. I deduct 1 star just because my voice recording plays very quiet... you can barely hear it. I've tried everything-- even yelling during recording... the speaker just has no oompf to it... BUT--- that said, the falling of the dry food is enough to do the trick to grab any cat's attention... the voice part is a gimmick anyway. I would still recommend this to others.
