An adorable queer graphic novel ✨
(Voluntarily reviewed an eARC of the book on For The Love of Fictional Worlds)This was such a cute and adorable graphic novel that I ended up finishing in one single sitting! While I absolutely enjoyed the taste testing pig, there was actually too much packed into a stand-alone volume if this novel. This should have definitely been one that could have been a three-four part series giving time to the protagonist to be meshed out into a solid four dimensional character rather than being pulled in different directions. The artwork was soothing; and inventive enough for me to enjoy it as part of the storyline seamlessly.Definitely worth picking up if you are interested in cooking and love reading graphic novels.

Fofo e cativante
História leve e romântica sobre um chefe de cozinha que está iniciando a carreira e sua descoberta de um novo amor no trabalho. Gostei muito da trama e como é desenvolvida no processo de escrita desse HQ.

Fun, cute, but some contrived drama
This is a wonderful light and lovely tale about a young man trying to find his way while being heavily burdened by the very very real challenges of finding a job post graduation. Its ostensibly a workplace romance if you need more of a genre but it also covers general early twenty-something relationship dynamics. As far as positives go this was a quick story but a fun one. It had its quirks and no small amount of silliness, the characters are for the most part endearing (some side characters are a little uninspired but dont take away from the story). And there is minimal drama and maximal wholesomeness! I think they handled the reality that many young folk are facing i.e. trying hard in college (like they are told they have to) only to find out there is no equivalent payoff in the job market, really well. And it was used to set the stage and tell a story about how you might be ok if (and should be considered ok) to seek others paths besides what people want for you or what you think you want.Minor spoilers ahead****As for the negatives, Ben's friends are all a bit uninspired and bland. They feel like stock characters one might pick out to paint a picture of what people "think" twenty somethings are like. It isnt very important though as they dont make or break the story but they do take up some space with meh dialoge. Also they have a falling out which kind of comes out of nowhere and doesnt seem to match the supportive nature they set up for the friend group so it feels out of place and contrived. And the head chef character is more or less a walking chef sterotype i.e. aggressive, desiring a strict hierarchy (this is MY kitchen), and a bit dehumanizing of others. His character is fine overall and has some great moments but just felt a bit unoriginal.End spoilersOverall its a great day read and you might even learn some cooking knowledge!

bel fumetto!
