Yellowstone Skillet Review: A Branding Bonanza or a Backcountry Beast?
Giddy up, partners! This Yellowstone skillet is a rootin' tootin' piece of cast iron that'll have you feeling like a Dutton in no time. But does it live up to the hype of the show? Let's break it down:The Good:Authentic Cast Iron: This ain't no flimsy pan. It's the real deal, made in the USA by Lodge, a brand that's been crafting cast iron since 1896. You can feel the quality in its weight and sturdiness.Versatile Cooking: From the chuckwagon to the campfire, this skillet can handle it all. Sear a steak, fry up some bacon, bake a cornbread, or even use it over an open fire. It's truly a multi-purpose cooking tool.Pre-Seasoned: No need to mess around with seasoning rituals before your first use. This skillet comes pre-seasoned with natural vegetable oil, so you can get cooking right away.Yellowstone Branding: Let's be honest, the main draw here is the Yellowstone connection. The steer skull design is a cool touch for fans of the show, and it makes for a unique conversation starter in the kitchen or around the campfire. The Not-So-Good:Price: This skillet is pricier than your average Lodge cast iron. You're paying a premium for the Yellowstone branding, which might not be worth it for some folks.Size and Weight: At 18 inches, this is a BIG skillet. It's heavy and can be a bit unwieldy to handle. Make sure you have the muscle and the stove space to accommodate it.Cleaning: Like all cast iron, this skillet requires a little extra care when cleaning. No soap, just hot water and a good scrub.Overall:If you're a die-hard Yellowstone fan and a cast iron enthusiast, this skillet is a no-brainer. It's a quality piece of cookware with a cool design that'll last you a lifetime. However, if you're just looking for a good cast iron skillet, you might find better value elsewhere. Just remember, with proper care, this skillet will become a treasured heirloom that you can pass down for generations, just like the Dutton Ranch (hopefully without all the drama).Affiliate Disclaimer: Just so you know, I may earn a commission if you click on some of the links in this review and make a purchase. Cleaning and care.
Super good quality as far as the 12” cast iron skillet goes. The cleaning and care products are a must. Works well when it comes time to clean and season your skillet for your next use. The spray oil is great for storing skillet between uses. A must have for your investment.

Beautiful Frying Pan to Replace Toxic Non-stick Pans
Recently I decided to get rid of throw away toxic non-stick frying pans that get chipped and overheated thus emitting chemicals. I bought several new cast iron pans. From experience I learned DO NOT buy cheap foreign made cast iron pans. I bought some cheap pans, but they never stopped emitting a nasty taste. I threw out the inedible food, and once I figured out the source of the off taste, I threw out the pans. I now only buy Lodge pans made in the USA. Lodge pans are excellent and there is no suspect metallic taste. Are foreign makers getting rid of toxic materials in their cast iron? It tastes so nasty! This Lodge pan is an excellent size and comes with a beautiful Yellowstone design adding a little fun to my new pan. Also, it's a very reasonable price for a frying pan that will last your lifetime and many other lifetimes. Who knows, it could go on to be a collector's item in the many years of use this pan will offer. Don't hesitate. I highly recommend it!

Cast iron
This is really good cast iron skillet, I bought three so far in the last 2 yrs. One for myself and one for each of my daughters as gifts and they just love them. Pre-seasoned and ready to cook, easy to clean and keep seasoned.

First Lodge, but not last.
Very nice cast iron skillet. Seasoning seems good. First round of cooking, some fresh country sausage, stuck just a tad, but cleaned up easily after putting some water in heating it up and scraped some crust off. After that oiled it up and another layer of seasoning. My first Lodge skillet and if needed definitely won’t be my last. One star removed for packing, lousy, no Lodge box from what I’ve heard about Lodge also no seasoning instructions.
