Stylish but Struggling
As first-time parents, we were generously gifted the G5 Stroll, Sleep, & Ride Travel System, and while there are some nice features, we’ve noticed a few areas that could be improved. To start, the 360-degree rotation feature is interesting but doesn’t offer enough practical benefits to justify it as a standout feature. The stroller base folds up relatively easily, but unfolding it is quite difficult, especially if you’re trying to do it with one hand. If you’re holding the baby or have limited use of one hand, it becomes nearly impossible, making the system less functional for solo outings. The design of the carrying handles also seems to prioritize style over function. It appears to be designed with women in mind, as it’s meant to be carried over the forearm. As a male, I typically carry things in my hands, and the thick handle is uncomfortable when used this way.Since we’re still in the newborn stage, we’ve primarily used the bassinet and car seat. The car seat’s carrying handles and straps feel overly complicated. I’ve had to take apart the padding and attachments multiple times to adjust the straps evenly, and dealing with a stuck strap stop is frustrating. Additionally, the infant padding in the car seat doesn’t attach securely, causing the baby to shift up and down, which is not ideal for comfort or safety. It also feels like the overall design places more emphasis on appearance than practicality. While it’s great to have a sleek, good-looking product, parents need a balance between aesthetics and functionality. In this case, the focus seems to lean more toward style at the expense of usability. On top of that, the frequent requests to become a brand ambassador feel like a bit of a cash grab, which detracts from the product’s premium image. These are just my observations after 15 days of use, and I’ll continue to update as we experience more with the system.
